Questions & Answers

Can the door be installed on the 14 ft. side instead of the 10 ft. side?

Can the door be installed on the 14 ft. side instead of the 10 ft. side?
Asked by: kds
No the door is installed on the 10 ft side not the 14 foot side that's the way it is designed.

locking the doors

how secure are the doors? are you able to secure with a padlock and feel safe that items will not be stolen?
Asked by: nick
The plastic door handles, have two holes in each handle, one at the top and one at the bottom. Both sets of holes line up when the doors are closed, and you can fit a simple key or combination pad lock in either set of holes. It would be advised to use a weather resistant pad lock, since the shed will be outside.

How many sheets of plywood will I need for the floor? It's funny no one put this information, and yet it's important.

Asked by: JerseyDrummer
If your using 3/4in thick plywood, it will take 5 sheets of 4ft W X 8ft L plywood. 6 or 7 sheets if you intend to build a ramp.

Red Barn 10 ft. W x 8 ft. D 2-Tone Galvanized Metal Storage Building is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from you get your monies worth purchased this unit over 25 years ago and is still standing (minus the doors). it was installed by my self and my teenage daughter while my husband was on another project. i had elected to make a 6" deep concrete pad with gravel under it for my rear yard has streams. every sq. ft. of this unit was used even the metal rafter was for overhead storage without reinforcement. i am now going to replace it with the same. we used portable shelves along with stationary for the many types of machinery and tools etc. we anchored it down with tie out dog cables at the time and they are still holding the shed in place, but then we were only girls being creative. this time we are extending the pad over the existing and pouring concrete columns, to incorporate a lean to for the firewood and additional oversize equipment. i highly recommend this product due to how it has stood up to the weather and the snow did not even dent the gable roof, the doors eventually came off because of the constant use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from metal shed WE BOUGHT THE SHED ( ON LINE, AS THERE WAS NO WAY TO BE ABLE TO GET IT IN A HOME DEPOT STORE, STLL A MYSTERY ), IN GOOD FAITH ABOUT FINDING A GOOD PRODUCT. WE WERE HAPPY THAT IT ARRIVED VERY QUICKLY, BUT THAT FEELING EVAPORATED AS SOON AS WE BEGAN TO PUT IT TOGETHER. 240 LB OF ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE METAL SHEETS ARE SO THIN, THAT IF YOU HAPPEN TO LEAN LIGHTLY ON IT, IT BENDS LIKE A PAPER. HUMDREDS OF SCREWS, BOLTS, WASHERS, LITTLE PIECES, LARGER PIECES. TIME REQUIRED TO ASSEMBLE, AS PER INSTRUCTION 4 TO 5 HOURS, WELL, GUESS WHAT ???? WE ARE ON OUR 3RD DAY, 10 HOURS A DAY, AND IT'S NOT FINISHED YET. PIECES DON'T MATCH, HOLES ARE NOT LINED UP PROPERLY!!!!. PLEASE, PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE, SAVE YOUR MONEY, RUN FOR THE HILLS, DON'T BUY THIS SHED,!!!!!!! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. I HAVE A GOOD MIND TO TAKE A CROW BAR AND LARGE HAMMER, SMASH IT TO LITTLE BITS AND PUT IT IN THE GARBAGE. IT WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN LONG, YOU CAN BEND IT WITH YOUR HANDS WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT. VERY DISSAPOINTED CUSTOMER. ( WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN , BAD EXPPERIENCE ).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Arrow Red Barn Gambrel Shed This Arrow Red Barn Storage Shed is great quality and very sturdy. My neighbor influenced my buying decision when he informed me that his Arrow shed had been installed over 25 years ago and is still standing and doesn't leak. I bought this shed and glad I did. It took me and my wife approx. 6 hours and it was well worth it. I loaded it up with all my tools, riding lawnmower, pool supplies and some odds and ends. I priced other comparable dealers online like originalshelters.com and found that the value and price at Home Depot far exceeded my expectations. I would wholeheartedly recommend this Arrow Red Barn Shed to anyone needing to add some extra space around the garden or patio area. There are a lot of parts and it can seem overwhelming at first look. However, the detailed assembly instructions make it easy to set up. Thank you Arrow Sheds for such a great storage shed and your prices are second to none.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Big red barn My husband put this together, I helped when he got to the roof, it took him about a week. The metal is very thin and if it's windy you will have issues with it blowing around and bending while putting it together. He built a treated wood floor and screwed the shed to the floor but only when everything was finished, very important it is level or you will have issues making sides and roof line up. Some of the screw holes did not match up so he had to drill new ones. Once everything is assembled it seemed a little more solid but we haven't had a huge wind storm lately. It does leak so we will have to do something with the roof to seal it up before we start filling it up with our valuables. You should read the directions a few times to clearly understand as my husband had to redo a few things because directions leave out important information. If I had to do this all over again, I would buy a wood shed, something more stable. You get what you pay for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It says it’s a 10x 14 ft but it isn’t.... It says it’s a 10x 14 ft but it isn’t. It’s about 10x13 ft 6 in. I build a 10x14 ft floor frame for it before I got it and I had to alter it to work. Guess I should of read fine print or waited till I got it and measured it before I built the floor foundation for it. Very misleading I think.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Size and height is good, but some of the left side roof panels did not line up with the pre-drill... Size and height is good, but some of the left side roof panels did not line up with the pre-drilled holes. Also the shed was advertised as 14 feet long. This is incorrect, as once it was fully assembled, the shed was only 13 feet, 10 inches long. That is 2 inches short of 14 feet. The shed is exactly 10 feet wide, and 8 feet tall. Lastly, once the shed is fully assembled, their are a lot of exposed openings around the frame, and the wall corner joints that will have to sealed with water proof silicone caulking, flex seal, water proof expanding foam, or whatever is choosen by the next customer to work. All together, it is a good shed, and is worth the money! Do not use the pre-fabricate foundation for the base. Use 3/4 inch plywood sheets, 2 X 6 boards, and cinder block. Be sure the wood is pressure treated!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty awesome for a metal shed It took 2 full days with me (semi-knowledgeable & skilled) and a friend (expert) to assemble this shed. Okay, he assembled it, I helped out a little. Anyway - I needed his expertise to be able to set up a level & square foundation, and his tools to make it go faster. Otherwise, the directions were mostly clear, with only a few areas that made us scratch our heads. Many of the parts did not have part numbers on them & a few of the parts arrived with damage to the exterior coating which was a disappointment. The biggest challenge was the roof; the center panels of the roof require you to stand very near the top of a 6' ladder and from there be able to reach across the 3' panels, with a power screwdriver in hand, to secure them. It was not easy - especially since I'm only 5'5" & he's not much taller than I am. My suggested improvements would be: 1. Number ALL the parts &/or number the bags that contain them. 2. Make the roof panels narrower even if that means you have to have one more. 3. Update the description of the item on your website - it describes a totally different item. and finally: 4. Include a little bottle of touch-up paint in both the red & the white so that any minor dings & scratches can be treated immediately, and 5. We would have loved to been able to choose this structure in a different color.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to assemble, roof with bad design It's not something you can do it by yourself, requires at least 2 people to do it. My friend is a handy man and it took us 3 days to put this together. The design of the roof is bad bad bad. It uses duct tape (yes , duct tape) to cover big gaps on the roof. Guess what, it leaks everywhere when it rain.
