Questions & Answers

Are these staples strong?

We're building a cat enclosure. Until now we've hammered in poultry fence nails (the U shaped nails) but that's time consuming and back breaking. Are these staples just as strong and will they hold up to a build such as a cat enclosure? Would we need to sandwich the wire between boards if we go this route with the staples?
Asked by: RedFurmom
They appear to be strong enough for the job I used it on.

Would these be ok to attach boat trailer bunk carpeting?

Asked by: Dozerdan
I called the Arrow Fastener company. As the Home Depot description says for Monel it should not be used with ACQ pressure treated wood and you would want to use this stainless steel staple instead. Monel is OK with MCA (Microionized) wood. If you do not have the wood label, the ACQ is the darker green treated wood we all used 10-15 years ago before it began to be replaced with the lighter yellow-green MCA wood. Home depot sell both formulations depending on the dimension of the lumber. The typical 2x4 or 2x6 used for boat trailer bunks is the lighter MCA and Monel would be better in this situation than stainless.

Can these staples be used on treated lumber?
Asked by: MILES
I've used them on treated lumber and had no issues. Holds up much better than the regular steel.
