Artscape will work with any smooth and non-textured window. The film is designed to go on the interior but will also work an the exterior.

would this provide enough privacy to be used on a window in a shower, to prevent neighbors seeing in?

Yes it would provide enough privacy while being cost efficient versus window replacement.

The Artscape window film in Elm offers privacy and sunlight. Installation is straightforward - align the film to the window to ensure correct size before applying, spray the window so the film can adhere, place the film on the window and smooth out the air bubbles with the enclosed squeegee tool. I did find the film stuck better with solutions that aren't necessarily green (such as Windex,Fantastic, etc.) rather than the green solutions (such as Simple Truth, Mrs. Meyers, etc.). As far as privacy in the night, only obscure images can be seen from the outside.

I installed in a bathroom window hoping I can get rid of the current blinds but this doesn't provide enough privacy. I can still see inside the bathroom from outside, so I think the frosted type would have been better. I'll have to keep the blinds to close the window or replace for a more private type film in the future. The installation was super easy, it's fool proof. The film has a paper backing so it's easy to mark with a pencil for more accurate cutting. Step 1: Clean the glass Step 2: Measure the glass Step 3: Cut the film Step 4: Spray the glass with soapy water Step 5: Place the film on the glass. Step 6: Use the included squeegee to remove bubbles.

This product was a higher quality product than some my wife purchased online. At first, I was not sure about the Elm design. After getting it on the window, I have to say, it looks pretty good. It took about 20 minutes to measure and cut. I had to piece two pieces together for my application. I did not take the time to try to line up the pattern. Unless you look for it, I still do not think you can really tell where one starts and the other begins. You have to really take a moment and look for it. That is just the nature of the pattern. I used one 24 x 36 sheet cut in 4 strips to cover the side lights around the front door. I have included a few pictures to show without, with and from the outside. I took the pictures fairly soon after installation, so some bubbling may be noticeable. I took some more time to squeegee out the air pockets. Also figure it will seal better as the small amount of water used evaporates. I definitely like how it makes it much harder to actually see through the windows, but still allows light to pass. Great product!

Very happy with this product. A cost effective solution, adding some privacy at my front door (which had clear glass down one side). The product is very easy to work with. There is no expansion to the product, so I simply measured to within a sixteenth of an inch of the overall opening. It was easy to cut with scissors. Installation was a breeze, a little water spray, plenty of time to work the product into place and remove excess water/and bubbles with the provided squeegee. I'll let the product sit for a week or so and if all is well I'll finish the edges with a little bead of white caulk, so it looks like installed glass.

Exceeded all expectations. Looks great. The vinyl is thick enough to withstand cleaning. Once it is on it is really stuck. Be sure to really really clean the window. I suggest two people if you are attaching a large piece so it doesn't fold against itself. Use lots of the soapy water mixture. I used one drop for a 16 ounce bottle and it worked well. More is better. If you don't apply enough water the vinyl will cling to quickly and you won't be able to get it exactly centered. It will get squeezed out so don't worry. After I squeegeed as much as I could there were still small air bubbles so I used a folded dry wash cloth to remove the rest of the air bubbles. It dried the vinyl at the same time so it was easier to see any small bubbles. Mfg suggest to replace very 4 years or so depending on UV exposure. Tips: • Directions are accurate. Read carefully several times! • measure twice. Clean window twice! must be extremely clean to keep it in place for a long time. • use a straight edge and make a light first cut to keep the blade from curving • apply to dry window with the backing still on to make sure the vinyl is the right size. • Needs to be 1/8 smaller than the window • unfold at least half of the backing to position along the entire top of the window so it sticks then peel off the bottom half. Or just peel the entire backing off first. • be sure it is positioned perfectly before squeegeeing. If not peel off and start over. Apply more water if needed. • Squeegee from the center to the edges. • Rub with a small hand towel to dry window

This is a beautiful film but a little tricky to apply and I have experience applying large decals on cars and motorcycles. The package includes a little squeegee that is pretty much useless because of the heavy texture of this film. I used an 8in squeegee that can be found in any hardware department. I really had to work at getting all the bubbles out and the small bubbles are hard to see through the texture. If you find air bubbles after it has dried, just pull it off re-wet and try again. This film lets light in but totally obscures what's behind it.
