AnswerThis mantel was designed to be used with our model AGVF340 gas fireplace insert. If you would like to use another fireplace insert with this mantel you should check the clearances on the fireplace you have in mind to ensure that it is acceptable to use with this mantel!

AnswerHi Sarah. I don't think this would work for most wood fireplaces. You would need to meet all clearances to combustibles for any wood stove you are thinking of using!

This surround exceeded my expectation.
My contractor assembled it and said it was pretty straightforward. We replaced an old black grungy Swedish fireplace with the clean simple lines of the Ashley unit . We intend to do a tile art piece at the back but it will remain a faux.
