Would this stick to glossy wood like this fireplace...would it stick to that?

Aspect can be installed over most structurally sound substrates if they are clean, flat, smooth, dry, and free of dust, wax, soap scum and grease. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. If you do not wish to prime, we recommend using additional adhesive in the form of PL Premium to ensure adhesion. Our stone tiles are unsealed, as a natural stone product it is very porous in nature. The tiles can be cleaned with any natural stone cleaner if you are unable to remove sports/splashes with simply soap and water. The panels can be sealed with a stone sealer or protected with a stone impregnator to protect against any future stains. Your local Home Depot store location will have many options in stock to choose from, Miracle Sealants tends to be a popular and successful brand used often. Asked by TM January 26, 2020Thank you for your interest in our Aspect Peel and Stick Stone Decorative Tile Backsplash in Charcoal Slate. Yes, since the panels are meant for a permanent application, they may remove some of the drywall substrates if you try and remove the panels. You can attach them to an under layment or backer board for easier removal in the future. Please make sure the substrate you are applying the tiles to is smooth, clean, flat, and prepped with a fresh coat of stand alone primer. Additional adhesive in the form of PL Premium by Loctite can also be used to secure adhesion. Will a dremel with a rotary blade cut through this?
Asked by Jacki June 8, 2018Thank you for your great question! Our Peel and Stick Stone Decorative Backsplash in Charcoal Slate can easily be cut with a tin snips or utility knife. However, any wood working tool will work to cut the tiles as well. You can certainly use a dremel with a rotary blade for your installation. Can this tile be used around fireplace?

Aspect can be installed over most structurally sound substrates if they are clean, smooth, dry, and free of dust, wax, soap scum and grease. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched and leveled. Fill cracks and irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth with fine-grade sandpaper. The substrate MUST be primed with a fresh coat of high-quality oil-based primer (not acrylic latex, vinyl or PVA-based primer).
