There is an error on the description on the burgundy and charcoal, the 2" x 24" x 24" product comes 16 pieces per box for a total of 64 square feet of coverage.
GSA Golf Enclosures uses Auralex SonoLites as an option for their enclosures. The SonoFlat panel is 2" thick as compared to the SonoLite at 1". I would order a sample of the SonoFlat panel from Auralex to verify it fulfills your need, which I expect it will.
The SonoFlat Panels will not work with a drop ceiling grid as they have no "tabs" to lay into the grid. You could make them work, but it would be much easier to go with T-Coustic or another product designed for drop ceiling grids.
One box of sixteen, 2 ft x 2 ft panels will cover 64 square feet of wall. Your wall at 16 ft x 8 ft is 128 square feet, so this box would cover 1/2 of the wall. You can ask Auralex directly if this would be satisfactory coverage for your application at support@auralex.com
Hi Steve, The Sonoflat panels have an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) of 0.95. We do not have any specific decibel ratings for this product.
Hello Mike and thank you for choosing Auralex Acoustics! The NRC (noise reduction coefficient) is a number rating system that is used to measure how absorptive a material is. The higher the number the more absorptive. The NRC of this product is 0.95. If you have any other questions, please call us at 317-842-2600. Thank you!
