Q:Can I put a 10 inch saw blade in a 8 1/4 table saw. Thanks

Answer This Question

A:  I do not think it safe as the smaller saw is designed for clearances for the proper size blade as you raise and lower it.

A:  If it was capable of using a 10" blade, they would have called it a 10" table saw...not too mention the HP required to turn a 10" blade would probably burn out a 8 1/4" saw motor in short order. That's providing it even has the clearance, which I doubt.

Q:Will this blade work to cut a stack of paper? Specifically, I want to trim the binding off a paperback book so I can punch the paper later and put it in a ring binder to lay flat. If not, any suggestions? (A guilitine papercutter is very costly.)

A:  Call Kinko's. They'll cut and bind your pages for a fee.

A:  I have never tried to cut paper on a table saw so I can't say. Might work, but very messy. I recently bought a band saw from Home Depot and it is much better suited to this and other tasks. Ryobi, under $200. A fantastic tool for all sorts of very clean cuts in stock up to 2.5 inches thick. If you have a lot of paper stacks to cut I highly recommend this tool.

A:  Thank you for reaching out! Yes, it will cut PVC however it is not the blade we would recommend as this blade is more so for wood/plywood/OSB. For blade recommendations please email info@avantiprotools.com. We're here to help!

A:  It will cut PVC just fine.

A:  I have used it to cut pvc pipes without any problems. A long vertical should be pulled slowly instead of pushed.

A:  You might be better off with a carbide tooth blade. Long sustained cuts with thin blades like this make them get hot. The they warp or "potato chip" and get bound up.

I used this blade with a RYOBI Mitre Saw to cut vinyl plank flooring (Home Depot's LIFEPROOF 6.5mm). The cuts were flawless, smooth and exact. I recommend it highly for installing vinyl plank flooring.

                  Good plywood cutting blade
The wife wanted to put thin paneling strips on the wall and this did a fantastic job on cutting the boards and the trim. It gave good clean cuts and made the job go much easier. I do recommend this blade for thin materials.

I bought this to cut my bamboo flooring, and it worked perfectly very little splintering. It was a great price and before buying this I had researched the internet and I could not find a 10 inch plywood blade with lots of teeth. The places that did have them were twice the price. I have had it for a few months and it cuts just like it did new. It was definitely a super great purchase.

There is nothing sweeter in the world than a sharp blade. Put this blade on my compound miter saw for the MDF baseboard project in the basement. Old blade was chipping the ends of the 32 bullnose pieces I needed. New sharp blade... no chips!

Worked great to rip 3/8 lauan plywood into 6" strips for simulated shiplap wall. Ran it at moderate speed and there was little to no edge sanding to be done.

This blade was used to cut a vinyl tile... Went through it like butter, without chipping the tile. After tiling two complete rooms, the blade is still as sharp as when I purchased it! Not very expensive, so that was even a bigger PLUS!

Smooth finish on the floor boards I was laying. Only thing I didn’t like was multiple cuts clogged the blade. I still recommend this for you saw blade collection.
