Product Overview

Desoldering braid (wick) is a copper braid used in the rework and repair of printed circuit boards, computers, cell phones or other electronics. Our Desoldering wick is made from oxygen free copper, lets you easily remove the extra solder from components or pads on the circuit board. Just press the braid onto the connection with a hot iron and the solder wicks up into the braid.
  • Made of clean, oxide-free copper wire
  • Tight weave enables quick “on and off” disordering
  • Concentrated fine copper braiding utilizes less length of wick for each desoldering application
  • RoHS compliant

Answer

Desoldering wick, is finely braided copper wire If you dont have available, or if Home Depot does not ship to Ghana. You can make your own wick out of some small braided copper wire. If you have an old phone charging cable, I have found that the small wire in the cable works perfectly for desoldering.

The copper wick soaked up solder that ran where it shouldn’t have gone. Great little item for the occasional mistake. Also a great price.
