If you go up on this web page you will see a section on the left called Product overview. To the right of that is a listing for Instructions and by clicking on that you will see the actual instructions that come with the Awning which should help you with your question. It comes with a manual pulley and pull cord system which pull the the arm bars back and the awning fabric will fold downward. Please see the picture of the traditional awning retracted to get a better idea.
Our Awnings in a Box Kits come in 4, 6, and 8 ft. kits only.
The poles will rise up almost into a 90 degree position and the fabric will fold in half and hang down.
If you go above you will see a Product Overview Section. On the right you will see a Specification Guide. If you click on that and go to page 3 you will see the dimensions of the Awning. There are also Instructions which include a price list. The Head Rod Clamps are 2.5 inches tall and the mounting holes are on top show this awning should work fine for your purpose
If you open the Specification tab above next to the product overview in the info and guides section you will see specification drawings for our awnings. You can see the Classic and Traditional awnings have the 26.5" projection. The designer awnings which are on page 3 in this section can me customized technically anywhere between 0 and 36" depending on where you mount the sidebars. It is actual design is based around a 26.5 projection. Thanks, Eric
Jeff, if you go up on this web page you will see the product overview section. To the right of that you will see things you can download such as dimensions and instructions. Please look at page 3 of the Specification pages and make sure you received the correct awing cover. Next, print the instructions and check the parts you have. Our awnings come in 2 ft kits so there should be a total of 4 center bars, head rod clamps. etc. Please note the 3rd column is the 8 ft awning parts total. I urge you to contact me personally with any additional questions at eric@idmworldwide.com or800-950-7885
The tuxedo color is gray.

If you look above, you will see the product overview with an info box next to it. If you open the instructions you will see the there is a pulley system which show you basically how you just pull the rope and the awning pulls back and allow you to fasten the rope to keep it back. If you want to take the fabric off, basically you just remove the Head Rod Clamps (A) and the Pulley System
