A: The volume of water pumped is modified by turning the control in the direction you wish more or less + or -. If you put the pre-filter on correctly - you can alter the flow by rotating the pre-filter in the direction of + or direction of -.

Why can’t the light be shut off?

With the cost of energy today, this pump should have a shut off …you certainly don’t need a light in the daytime….now happy with this….it should also be mentioned on the front of the packaging…as a pump…it works great…if I had known about the light I would not have purchased.
