          Very happy with this product.
We installed this in an existing pond built by the previous owners. It was definitely "plug and play" and moves enough water over the rocks to give a pleasant and soothing waterfall sound on the deck and back yard. The filters are easy to remove and clean, and the cord is long enough to make it easy to get to a GFCI receptacle. It has only been in use for a few weeks, but it hasn't missed a beat.

          This pump rocks!
I have this pump in my pond, running to a canister filter and the UV sterilizer and a waterfall. It is strong enough to pump water through both. The sponges have to be cleaned regularly, but that is due to the existing sludge in the pond. Cleaning is easy, just pull the sponges off and rinse.

Good, if you take the time to set it up right.
I agreed with the other users initially. I bought the pump at Home Depot hoping for something to circulate water in a small pond for a reasonable price. The first time around, the pump worked well at first, but got progressively louder after a few weeks, and then burned out altogether. I called Beckett, and they gave me the option of returning it to HD or they would send me a new part. Being clever, I had Beckett send me a new part AND HD was kind enough to exchange the broken pump, no questions asked. So I got a replacement and the replacement part, for free, both companies had decent customer service. Now, the second time I set up the pump, I paid closer attention to the ratio between the water sent through the fountain and the water being sent through the secondary valve. Getting the pressure right is absolutely important. If you don't get the right balance, you are putting too much pressure on the impeller. Since finding the balance, the pump has been working perfectly, minimal noise, no burnout. If that changes, I'll update the review. Just take the time to set it up right. If you are at all worried about replacing the pump, go with a professional model from a pond store, but this worked well for me.
