Questions & Answers

can it be used on aluminum siding?

Asked by: sfsd
Hi sfsd, We do not recommend applying the Masonry, Stucco and Brick Paint on aluminum siding. However, you can go with something like our Premium Plus Ultra Exterior Paint which can be applied to this type of surface. ~Takhari

Is it uv resistant

Absolutely not! It will fade before you get your brushes cleaned!

Can I use this paint on brick pillars and wood porch rails? Also does it require a primer coat?

It says self priming, also says primer needed? I am looking to rehab an old porch with brick, concrete, and wood. I would like to use one product and only have to do it once.
Asked by: Suede
I do not recommend this product as it will fade very quickly. In less than one year my house is a different color and the leftover paint does not match. Never mind the primer, that did not help whether you use it or not since I used it in some areas and not others. Same fading issue all over.

1 gal. #MS-39 Crystal White Flat Masonry, Stucco and Brick Interior/Exterior Paint is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 124.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Masonry and stucco paint on brown stone I live in the north east where some town houses are brownstone. The front of my house is all brown stone and was painted more than 20 years ago a few shades of what I'd call a greenish gray. I was able to match this paint to paint the stoop and touch up a few areas. The match is great. The paint covered very well. No problems there. The back of the house is mostly brick. The sills are brownstone. Since the sills have been painted before as well as badly stained and patched with cement I felt the best thing to do would be to just paint it the stones color. A sort of reddish brown. Goes nicely with the red brick. The problem... Even though the value is about the same as the color used on the front I can't get the masonry paint in this dark a color. Must have something to do with the red hue. Hey Behr... How about a deep base in masonry paint for us people who live in brownstones and want brownstone brown paint. Other than that I love Behr products and use them all the time.

The only thing I would suggest is that you do not go by the square ft per gallon coverage recommended. The suggested coverage per gallon would not have completed my project (suggested amount: 1-gallon.) Just to be safe, and because this product is not available in-store at our local Home Depot, I ordered 3 gallons and only had about a quarter of the 3rd gallon left over. I would buy this paint again! Very easy to apply, EXCELLENT coverage! Looks BEAUTIFUL! (This paint was applied to stucco.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY TWO STORY STORY I had been in my home six years and the once beige paint had faded to an almost antique white from the hot Florida sun. The original coating was a supposed high quality elastomeric paint. My stucco had developed cracks and was flaking at the base of those cracks. I repaired the cracks and flaking with cement and elastomeric caulking. After much research, I decided on behr flat masonry paint. My wife picked out some custom colors and we had it matched perfectly at the store. I purchased 25 gallons to cover my two story home and was amazed at the results. Easy application, beautiful coverage, and prefect color. My entire block had just used a "better, higher quality paint" to have their homes painted and yet my home was the one that stood apart from the rest. I have to stay I am very pleased with my decision to go with behr masonry paint and you will be too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge pitted and ridged Masonry wall..? I was recently faced with the task of painting a 90 ft wide wall by 20 ft, very pitted and ridged. I was thinking I would have to cover this wall at least twice possible three to four times. I picked Behr's Masonry, Stucco, & Brick paint. Amazingly, using a very thick roller, I was able to cover in one coat. This paint goes on thick and smooth, and has awesome covering power. I needed to only touch up some of the deeper pitting. You can see in the photo how deeply ridged and pitted this wall is. I had only one issue with Behr regarding this paint. I had another project that I wanted to use this paint in a satin finish. You can not buy 1 gallon cans in a deep tintable base either retail or online. Behr this is a wonderful product....Please make it available in 1 gallon tintable deep base, satin finish.. Online it is always pre-tinted., and it is not available retail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint painted a 3000 sq ft stucco house and perimeter wall in 80-90 degree dry desert heat using graco sprayer and attachements. 3mos ago AWESOME results, great value i would do it again and recommend PS be careful with sprayers, this product was the correct match to the sprayertype(store staff were helpful)...the elastomeric paint is too thick for airless sprayers of this type

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this paint I was updating a 1970's den with an entire brick wall around the fireplace. I bought this paint to transform the original orange bricks. I chose a medium blue/grey color. Sorry I don't remember the color name. This paint covered beautifully with one coat. It went on smooth and flawlessly. I am very pleased with the results. I have used many other paints with less then stellar results. I will only buy the Behr brand of paints now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Always Midnight In My Backyard We have a large and unsightly stucco retaining wall in our rear yard. About 10 years ago I was inspired to paint it a bright cobalt blue (using Behr paint, of course, that is the only paint I use) As the wall gets a fair amount of sun, I was concerned about fading. And yes, fade it did. AFTER 10 YEARS! Earlier this summer I repainted it with Behr Masonry, Stucco, & Brick paint. I used a quality Home Depot roller and chose "Midnight Blue" for the color this time. I'm thrilled with the results! My plants and garden art "pop" against this beautiful color and my formerly boring wall is now a focal point of the yard. I wish I was able to post pictures for all to enjoy!
