The BEHR Solid Color House and Fence Paint is a vertical use exterior stain, combining the best features of oil and latex for superior color retention, adhesion, penetration and durability. It provides a film that is highly resistant to cracking, peeling, blistering, weathering, chalking and erosion. It cleans up easily with soap and water and can be applied over water-based or oil-based paint or primer.
- Ideal for exterior application on vertical wood surfaces, such as fences and siding
- For the best results, be sure to properly prepare the surface using the required preparation products as listed in the Use & Care Manual
- Formulated for use with a brush, roller or sprayer for easy application
- Oil-latex formula retains the wood's natural texture and features self-priming capability
- Resists mildew growth to maintain a pristine appearance
- Protects against UV rays
- Can be applied in temperatures as low as 40°F

Nothing else compares!!
We have a saltbox with cedar siding--we do not trust any other stain but BEHR!! The quality cannot be beat, results are stunning and the stain weathers well in our New England weather--the color stays true and lasts for years. Highly recommend!

Easy to apply and it stands up to Cape Cod weather
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this stain 2 years ago to use on my wood shingles as it was time to restrain my house. I completed 2 sides and finished the rest last summer. The Behr stain mixes easily. In fact it was still mixed well from the store mixing when I used it the day after purchase. The stain is easy to apply, goes on well, with not a lot of dripping if applied properly. Coverage is great and the dried finish is exactly what it's supposed to be. Two years later for half of the house and it still looks great, and it blends perfectly with last year's application on the rest of the house. Hopefully I can get quite a few more years out of the application of Behr wood/shingle stain. Great value for the price, true color, and easy application.

This is a good product and cleans up easily with soap and water, but it is not 5 gallons. This product is misrepresented because the bucket only contains 4.53 gallons.

So there is room left in the container to ensure there is enough space for the appropriate colorants to be added for the color selected. Otherwise, there could be issues with the bucket overflowing.
