The perfect shade of pink
I used the shade Bridal Bouquet to paint my piano. I am so happy with the results. The color is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. The only issue was I had to do 4 coats total to get it perfectly opaque, but it was worth it.

The color was absolutely perfect. Not to dark but very light. Definitely can tell it was a light gray. It looked white in the can, but gray on the furniture I painted.

      Easy to apply
Bought two quarts to paint several pieces of furniture by spraying them with a paint gun (Wagner Flexio 3000). I diluted 300ml of this paint with roughly 1 tbsp of water, though I likely didnt even have to apply water to the mix. It applied very smooth and evenly. The only imperfections I experienced were due to my lack of thorough surface prep and applying too thick of a coat in a couple spots (this resulted in some orange peel texture).

        Awesome Value
I love this chalk paint color! Not only is this paint great value for the price, but you can’t beat a color like this. I was looking for a French blue and this was a close comparison. I did add some chalk paint white (vintage linen) to this to make it slightly even closer to a “French linen” color. If you are deciding between this paint or an expensive one— definitely just get this one! Great coverage and went on smooth. Easy to apply

I have not used other chalk paints so I don't have a comparison but I did need to thin this out with water to spread smoother and used general finishes HP top coat to seal.

          Disappointed
After looking at several videos and reading many directions, I purchased the Behr Chalk Decorative Paint in Timeless Blue to refinish a cedar chest. The paint was very thin ( like regular latex paint) and not "buttery and creamy" at all even after shaking the can and stirring. After applying the paint with the Behr Chalk Paint Brush I could see the brush strokes. After applying the clear wax, the brush strokes were even more noticeable. Not really happy with the end result. Would like to know if this can be salvaged?

          Response from BehrJul 6, 2021
Hi Mary - Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the consistency seemed thin and the paint left brush marks on the chest you painted. Our chalk paint tends to have a slightly thicker consistency compared to regular wall paint. It will also apply differently than wall paint, so uneven areas and brush strokes are normal. For a smooth finish, it's best to remove the wax and sand the brush strokes down. Once the surface is smooth and clean, you can reapply the wax to seal in the finish. For further assistance with your project, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We'd be happy to help - Sara Behr

This is the 5th piece of bedroom furniture.
This is the 5th piece of bedroom furniture. I switched the color this time to a custom color like french linen and put 2 coats in. Then I mixed my own wax with my leftover Behr Dove color I had from my other pieces in a 4:3 ratio and brushed it on like websites say but that made it blotchy. I put a 2nd coat of wax on with a car wax pad and I liked it better but my sister said it looked busy. So I got out the mineral spirits and buffed everything removing most of the wax and left a slight whitewash look behind. This project kicked my butt. I wish I had a smaller piece I had wanted the same color, but I guess I am pleased with the forgiving nature of these paints so that even if you think you messed it up and might have to start completely over which is no big deal, fear not, forge forward and things will work out. If my custom wax had not looked blotchy I would not have gotten the mineral spirits out and ended up with pretty much what I had intended in the first place, just didn't anticipate the stops to serendipitous way to get there. Took only 3 hours to paint with chalk paint, but waxing and buffing probably took another 3-4 hours off and on over 2 days total. Not too bad. 30 year old armoir now looks much newer.

              Furniture in bedroom
I got this paint tinted to Behr Dove and painted my dressers and nightstands. I used natural wax as a sealer. Turned out great and really lightened up my dark room since all my 30 year old furniture was cherry and walls are dark brown and beige. So much happier with contrasting furniture now.

Smooth application, great coverage, quick dry, no bad smells, easy clean up, gorgeous color selections.. what more do you need? I prepped with TSP, two solid coats of OtterTail, sealed with minwax paste in natural. Perfection!

Hello, thank you for your review. I'm so sorry the color turned out more gray than expected. Colors can look slightly different under different kinds of light, so I recommend recoating your project in a new color that is closer to what you are looking for and testing it in a small area first to ensure it looks just right on your project. We used the color Surf on this once brown wood entertainment center. One qt did the whole thing, however I did leave it where the brown showed through a tiny bit to give it a rustic vibe. Love the color, and texture! Definitely will be buying this product for other projects!

                          Fabulous Paint
Funny when I started looking into chalk paint, I read everything about it - EVERYONE needs to do that. Years ago I mixed my own color, painted a bathroom tower and then used wax on it. Yes WAX seals the chalk pained and goes on very smoothly and dry invisible - if you get clear. Then I decided to dress up my mirror for the master, had the mirror, bought the appliqué and wood decal, as well as hardware and went to work. Cooper underneath and farmhouse white in outside distressed and wax on top. Moved onto Chins cabinet in dining room , farmhouse white, distressed and waxed. All of these items were previously painted, stained or had clear coat on them. THAT IS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF CHALK PAINT... no sanding, no priming, no stripping - nothing you paint over without all that other crap - that is why it is so great. But you must use the wax. Now, I am painting my already stained door and window trim white and that is coming out fabulous as well. If anyone is still struggling, I suggest you read up on this paint, how to use it abs what it’s used for because - no one should have issues using this.

Cotton Knit Is a very soft off white color. You must use stain blocking primer prior to use, or you will absolutely have bleed through. It takes several coats for full coverage but it still goes a long way - was able to use one can on a Secretary desk and two nightstands with product left over (at least 4 coats used in each). I prefer behr chalk paint to all the others out there due to the lower price, extensive color selection and smoothness of the finish.

I'm very pleased with the way my storage shelf laminate came out - it looks like a new piece of furniture. The cabinet was white laminate.
