A really rich, dark grey that makes a great accent wall. I also painted the kitchen island because it looks so good.

I was not made aware that this is not actually “one coat” and I ended up with 4 coats to get full coverage. Behr did honor the guarantee.

        Response from BehrOct 25, 2024
Hi EMILY, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you did not get the coverage that you expected. Our Marquee Paint should cover in one coat when tinted to one of the one-coat colors and applied over a previously painted or primed surface. The color Buzz-In is not a guaranteed color and actually recommends a tinted primer to reduce the number of coats needed for full coverage. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. It sounds like you have reached out to us directly and have been assisted. Let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day! -Giovanna Behr

Skip the Eggshell and go with Satin
I bought the eggshell by mistake. Our wall looked incredible blotchy. I went back and bought the satin and it turned out perfect. Satin 5 stars eggshell was a waste of time.

Hi Lindsay, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the eggshell finish looked blotchy. This is not normal, and I understand your disappointment. Typically, porous surfaces may require more than one coat for an even finish. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Giovanna Behr

        Color is gorgeous!
I was using the project color app, and I was between this color and oriental eggplant. Exotic eggplant was the lightest color of the samples that I bought. I feel in love with making my music room purple. Based on the swatches on the Behr Paint website, I thought maybe oriental eggplant would be the one. But they always show the colors in well-lit, lots of natural light rooms, and let's be real most of us don't have big luxurious foyers or kitchens with giant windows. I love it.

          Love Behr Marquee
We are always super pleased at the true one coat coverage of Behr Marquee. I always buy Behr and always love the product. This was used to make the geometric mountain mural.

            Gorgeous shade of navy
Absolutely thrilled with this shade of dark navy! It took one gallon of paint and two light coats to paint my small dining room. Color went on beautifully and dried even better. I didn’t think I could love a navy blue so much!

Had to paint 2 coats, still looks uneven
Had to coat 2x for proper coverage. Wall started with a light blue. After I painted a second time around, it had like these weird streaks of unevenness, will have to do a 3rd coat. Area painted was 189 SF (with the 2nd coat, 378 SF Total, gallon is suppose to cover 400 SF). The gallon barely made it. For the price of the “Marquee” line, I expected it flawless upon the 2nd coat. 3 stars is for e beautiful color. The ugly uneven streaks in the sample image below are throughout the entire wall.

For a long time, Behr Premium Plus Ultra has been my go-to paint, but I happened to get this in Behr Marquee Eggshell in "Seagull" (which is not a Marquee color as far as I know) and was duly impressed. Aside: Seagull is a beautiful, ethereal light grey with a warmish, green undertone that looks gorgeous in our ESE-facing living room. Marquee has a silky, almost buttery texture to it and glides on like a dream. I've never come across an interior paint that is nearly as silky. It's a pleasure to work with. The coverage seems to be excellent. In terms of the one-coat guarantee, I'm still not sure I believe it for two reasons. Seagull was not a color that was covered by the guarantee but you can still see that the claim is a bit problematic in practice regardless of color. Reason #1: It's a matter of simple probability -- two coats is much more likely to ensure that a) you didn't miss spots and b) that any irregularities get filled in. Reason #2: there's a difference between achieving one-coat coverage and *looking good.* Yes, you can probably get away with one coat. But two coats will simply look richer and more professional. I'm just not convinced that there's any way around this fact. That's why I end up at four stars -- not because the paint is not high quality (it is!) but because I'm not sure that it merits the higher price over PPU. If money were no object I'd buy Marquee every time because it is just so nice to work with. But I'd still plan on applying two coats.
