I used this paint on some out of date cabinets in my laundry room, and I'm very happy with the finished product. I used brushes and rollers and had good coverage on the cabinets after only 2 coats (brushed on first coat and rolled on second coat using brush for features/tight spots) after a good sanding of the cabinets. The finish is durable after curing, which can take a few weeks. As I live in a dry climate, the cabinets were dry to the touch after only 2 house. I put my freshly painted cabinets to use after just 2 days by putting a little rubber bumper on the corner of each cabinet door, so the painted surfaces do not stick to one another. The cured paint is stain resistant and has been easy to clean with a damp rag. The leveling feature of the paint was also exceptional and resulted in a quality final coat. If I was painting kitchen cabinets, I would probably put a couple coats of poly over the final coat but not necessary for laundry room cabinets.

    Smooth finish
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just started my kitchen remodel and used this on my honey oak cabinets. I did sand lightly and prime before applying as I wanted to minimize the wood grain bleed. It’s super important to apply a THIN coat of this paint and fight the urge to over apply. It will run but if you apply a thin coat, it dries to a marvelous streak free finish.

      made our cabinets look new
We had our cabinets in the bathrooms and laundry room painted in a Behr Gray and even our friends thought they were brand new. We were very pleased and happy with the results.

Kitchen cabinets look good as new
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I repainted 20 year old kitchen cabinets, about 18 months ago. The Behr cabinet & trim paint turned out great. Removed doors, glass inserts, handles, and cleaned with dish soap and several water rinses, all applied on sponges. Dried with cotton towels. Sanded using 3M 320 grit paper - lasts significantly longer than other brands. Removed all dust, again damp cotton towels. Did not use tack cloth. Then started applying paint. First coat was Behr latex primer, using cloth roller, 6 inch width. Ended up with very smooth surface. On corners and edges roller could not reach, used small high quality brush immediately before using roller. No brush marks. Let primer dry 24 hours, and then applied first coat of Cabinet & Trim (semigloss), same technique, brushing in details, and quickly following up with roller. Let dry for 2 hours and added 2nd coat of Cabinet&Trim paint. End result looks uniform, not smooth like spray painting, but slightly textured, and completely uniform. Reinstalled glass inserts, remounted cabinet doors and drawers, reinstalled handles. Looks great after 16-18 months daily use. No chipping, no scaling, no peeling. I think the paint is tougher today than the surface was a month after repainting. Behr premium Cabinet & Trim paint has been used since on baseboard, shoe molding, and the inside surface of steel doors. Great results every time. Trim looks like it was sprayed. Absolutely satisfied.

            very durable finish
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using this product for six months and have painted trim, doors, and a dresser. The product dries more quickly than typical paintand allows more coats to be applied each day. The paint dries to a very durable finish. We plan to continue using this specialty paint instead of typical latex semi-gloss.

              New life for old cabinets
Looking for a good topcoat paint for kitchen cupboards. Cabinets were 1975 mobile home era, laminate and masonite. Did all the necessary prep, wash, sand, good primer and sand again. Used 1/4 nap 4" roller for Behr Premium cabinet paint and so far looks great. Dried to touch in 1 hour like directions said and recoated in proper time. Sanded between 1st and second coat just to give me a clean, smooth finish. Finish feels hard and dry. Will give it 5 stars if it stands the test of time.

It’s not white. I started painting shelves inside the cabinets and noticed after. I’m debating on changing brands now.

Hi GRACE - Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that this color didn't turn out as expected. I recommend making sure the color was mixed correctly by comparing the paper swatch for White 52 to the dried paint dab on the lid of your can. If they match, the color is correct, and you may want to choose a new color to recoat your project with. If they don't match, the color may have been mixed incorrectly, and we would recommend continuing your project with the right color. So we can assist you with this further, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We hope to hear from you! – Sara Behr
                Terrible on kitchen cabinets
I was told at a Home Depot store to use scuff defense on my primed kitchen cabinets. HUGE mistake. It would hardly stick. I went back, and was told to use the cabinet and trim paint. That was only slightly better than the scuff defense! I had to paint 3 coats on each side, letting them dry before painting another coat. I used a foam roller and a brush. I was told it was self leveling, and that wasn’t the case for me. You can see everything. They look absolutely awful. I don’t understand why it wasn’t adhering? I tried the scuff defense on a wall, thinking it was the Zissner primer but it was the same on the wall. Now, I have to completely redo them. I’ll never buy any Behr paint.

Hello, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the issues with the paint adhering. This is not normal, and I understand your disappointment. I recommend sanding the loose coating off, cleaning the surface, and touching up. Scuff sanding will help promote adhesion. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. I'll reach out to you in a private email to find the best way to help. Have a great day! -Giovanna
