The BEHR Premium Solid Color Waterproofing Stain and Sealer is an advanced 100% acrylic formula that delivers all-weather protection from the elements for up to 10 years on decks and 25 years on fences and siding. The product is self-priming and delivers excellent protection from the sun's harmful UV rays. This stain will hide imperfections while allowing the wood texture to show through. This product is also great for composite decks.

Easy to use for furniture
Loved using the pure white semi-transparent stain on a rocking chair I purchased for our porch. The chair was oak and after sanding I wanted to keep its blonde look. The stain gave a gorgeous white washed effect. I bought an 8oz tin for under $4 and I have around 1/6th of the tin remaining after 2 light coats. The stain went on easily with a good quality brush. It has not rained yet so I can’t vouch for water resistance, however I have used the same stain in another colour for our outdoor dining set and the water beads nicely, so I expect the white to do the same. Overall I really enjoy working with this product on outdoor furniture.

Great Shade
I ended up using two coats for my pallet project. One coat worked well, you could still see the grain of the wood, but I wanted my project brighter so did two coats. Got the sample size and still have some left over. Its a great deal!

Not so good!
Let me start by saying that we ONLY buy Behr products when it comes to painting or staining. Our new deck was clean several days before applying weather proofing semi-transparent wood stain. We bought the paint on 9/13/14 and by 3/1/15 it is peeling and has mold in the grooves of the wood. This is not our first time staining a deck. Unfortunately this just wasn't a good match for us. It looked great until it started looking chipped and molded.

Saved Our Deck
I thought our deck was beyond repair, we had painted a few years back with another product. This all in one wood stain and sealer is truly amazing. I have attached a picture after only one coat. First, I knocked off any loose paint, lightly sanded some bad areas and painted. This products sealed the wood and adds a level of water-proofing. We needed a special color and Home Depot mixed it to perfection. I would recommend this product.

Really like it so far...
We primarily chose this product for our full-sun pool deck because of the Consumer Reports rating of it and expected durability. It went on nice, definitely took two coats. I've seen some brands that claim one coat, but don't believe it. We brushed the rails and rolled the deck boards (floor). Time will tell if it is as durable as hoped and seems like it will be... we'll see. :)

Best product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I uss this regularly on new and old decks! Adhesion of this product is incredibly important. Can go over old stains or even latex paints without primer as long as its prepped properly. This product will withstand any weather conditions year after year. Key is to up keep seasonal maintenance!

Poor Quality
Very disappointed with this Behr solid stain product. Did all the correct preparation and it started peeling the first year and looks horrible after second year.
I have used Behr paint products for years, but after this experience I will be looking at other choices.

not good
i bought this about 10 months ago. there happened to be a behr representitive there at the time, i wish i wouldn't have listened to him. i was going to buy the 5 gallon can but he told me 3-4 gallons would be plenty, i bought 4 and had to come back for another( more money). i followed the instructions on the can and his , now i'm looking at a lot of peeling and bare spots in NON-traffic areas.
