The BEHR PREMIUM Solid Color Waterproofing Stain and Sealer is an advanced 100% acrylic formula that delivers all-weather protection from the elements for up to 10 years on decks and 25 years on fences and siding. The product is self-priming and delivers excellent protection from the sun's harmful UV rays. This wood stain will hide imperfections and signs of aging wood and is also a great choice to refresh the color on composite decks.

- For the best results, be sure to properly prepare the surface using other applicable preparation products as described in the use and care manual
- Formulated for use with a brush, roller or sprayer for easy application

- Must apply between 35°F-90°F and temperature must stay above 35°F for the next 12 hours

Durability is unsatisfactory

Behr is no longer a premium product
In 2020, I spent over 40 hours prepping my deck surfaces, meticulously following the directions provided by Behr. I applied the stain in perfect weather, again, being very careful to follow the directions.
I was initially very pleased with the result, but the snow melt of the following spring revealed surfaces that were patchy and peeling. Considering all the work that I'd put into it, I was quite disappointed. Nevertheless, I was still glad that I had chosen Behr, sure to their guarantee of performance.
I called them and explained the situation, and after they asked a few questions, they agreed that the product was at fault and should be replaced.
They shipped the replacement product very quickly, and I used it (after prepping the surfaces again) to re-stain the deck.
At the same time, I stained our porch with another bucket of the identical product, purchased separately.
Again, the result was very nice, until this spring (2022), when the melting snow once again revealed patchy and peeling stain on both the porch and the deck.
I'm extremely disappointed, to put it mildly, and I don't expect that I'll buy Behr products again.
There's a contractor going by the handle "BigFish" who also gave a review here and had the same experience that I did. That really confirms for me that Behr is no longer a premium product, despite the premium pricetag.

Hi there, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that your stain peeled on both the deck and porch. That is not typical, so I can understand your disappointment. If the issue is isolated, I recommend removing the loose coating, cleaning the surface with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner, and allowing that to dry before touching up the bare areas. You can also apply a thin coat for uniformity. If the peeling is widespread, I recommend removing the coating using our Wood Stain & Finish Stripper. Once you're back to bare wood, clean the area with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner and allow the surface to dry before restaining. Thank you again for sharing your honest feedback and experience. Directions could be better
Not sure how to proceed. "Re-coat 1-2 hours, light foot traffic 24-48h". I have to walk on the surface to re-coat. So how does one re-coat? Would like to know how best to proceed. The first coat was easy to apply.
