Q:I used this transparent finish on my patio posts and beams and it looks and works great. It's time to recoat. I can't find any instructions on recoating after 5 or 6 years. What are your recommendations?

Q:We got a low snap coming. I can apply in 45-50 degrees but that night will be 33-35degrees. Is that enough time or do I need to wait?

NOT CLEAR! It is an opaque butterscotch color
OMG, I could not believe they call this "clear". I put this product on my log cabin and it is definitely more of an orange STAIN. I thought it must have been a mismarked batch, so I called customer service. They said the UV chemicals they use give it this color and it will be the same on all of their UV protected products! Why call it CLEAR then???!!!

I can understand how there might be confusion with the wording of "clear" as an untinted product. The "clear" finish refers to the level of transparency of the product, not the color. A good example of this is how Jell-O is available in a variety of colors but is completely clear. There are other products on the market that are clear and colorless but will most likely not have UV protection included, as that is typically what gives a clear stain color. Looks great, but definitely not a clear finish.
Although this product is labeled as a clear finish, it actually produced a beautiful caramel color on the pressure treated lumber we used for our deck. Really happy with the look and ease of application.

Product looks great. I cleaned and sealed 2 decks which hadn’t been maintained for many years. Key is to clean wood thoroughly and apply 2 coats. We first rolled on, then back brushed, working a 3’x2’ area at a time.

We made sure to properly clean and prep our 2 year old fence and we are very pleased with the results, now water runs right off. I saw other reviews that said their fence came out too yellow, well it is yellow pine, but I think it is more of a golden hue. Looks like new!

NOT CLEAR AT ALL
This stuff foams like no tomorrow, it’s not clear, and it is still so sticky (it’s been drying for 3 days!). I’m a residential painter and I’ve used many different products for exterior clear sealer and this is NOT it. You’re better off ordering Spar Urethane in a water base. The false advertising with this product is absolutely ridiculous. I’m disappointed this is the orange result my clients got!

NOT CLEAR. Makes your wood YELLOW
This product is not clear. Unfortunately my husband picked out and purchased this product without me approving it and had already stained half the boards we were gonna use to put up a fence.
Needless to say, I was LIVID. To see that the wood was yellow…. So infuriating especially when the product is marketed as “clear”
It also was very runny. My husband used as directed and there still were tons of drips that we had to scrub after it had dried.
This product is garbage.

This stuff is great used it a few years ago on the front porch it lasted unfortunately the weather and wear n tare I am using it again but it’s great. Also used it on a fence in the back yard got lots of compliments on how great it looks awesome Bear product to use

Label says Clear but it is not
I asked the Home Depot associate which would be the best product to waterproof a painted wooden sign. He recommended this product. When I opened the can I was surprised to see that it is not clear, nor does it look transparent. I hoped that it would dry clear but it did not. My handpainted beach scene now has a beige tint to it. My handpainted white letters are now an off-white color. After spending two days to handpaint this sign, i am angry and disappointed in this product.

I'd always used Spar Varnish or a Polyurethane for the redwood fence I built, but the local HD salesman suggested I try this product. Couldn't be happier. Love the lack of sheen and how the color darkened and got much richer in depth.
