The BEHR Premium Elastomeric Masonry, Stucco and Brick Paint is an exterior, flexible high-build coating designed to expand and contract, bridging hairline cracks on vertical masonry surfaces. The finish has a limited lifetime guarantee. This extremely durable, mildew and dirt resistant waterproofing finish has superior elasticity and elongation properties, stretching up to 600% to resist cracking and withstands up to 98 MPH wind-driven rain. The 100% acrylic latex formula provides a breathable film, releasing moisture that builds in walls. Ideal for us on properly prepared exterior vertical surfaces such as stucco, masonry, concrete, concrete block or brick as well as adjacent wood and metal surfaces.

I have multiple small, hairline and a few medium sized (~half inch max) cracks in my stucco found...

I have multiple small, hairline and a few medium sized (~half inch max) cracks in my stucco foundation. I've caulked all the visible cracks with Sika ProSelect Construction adhesive caulk (was recommended by H. Depot) and it's had ample time to dry & cure. Do I need to prime the stucco and caulked area before I apply the Behr Elastomeric paint? If so, how many coats of primer is needed? The stucco does have a tint color to it (which I'm assuming, but don't know for sure, is just from the stucco application). Behind the stucco is concrete block wall.

Priming is for bare surfaces...If you have paint on stucco, it does not need to be primed.

Hi can sand be added to this product to produce texture?

Sure. I have painted over adobe bricks with it several times and that is like painting sand and the two mix fine together. The paint is pretty thick so I'm not sure how much sand you would have to put in it. You could also use patio or floor paint. You can incorporate sand or chips into those for texture.

can I use primer even if not necessary?

I have 2 gallons of primer to use.

Yes, over unpainted surfaces like masonry, brick or adobe I would use primer. I have used it over adobe bricks and always applied a primer. It has lasted well. It is great stuff.

Is this paint heat resistant and appropriate to use on wood burning fireplace brick surround excluding the firebox?

I am not an expert but, I do not think this paint is made for a working fireplace. It’s very elastic I believe it would Bubble up with the heat from the firebox. Pat
