Q:Hi, how am I supposed to clean this after applying the wax finish? I used the Behr chalk paint and wax on my kitchen island. It looked great. Weeks later, I used a sponge to wipe away a water or food stain and it took away the wax.

I've used chalk paint on numerous pieces of furniture, but this is the first time I used this wax to finish them. After following the instructions on the jar, this wax completely ruined my furniture. It left while globs, streaks, and smears across the entire thing (keep in mind this was with the CLEAR wax). I now need to purchase more paint to start the entire project over again.

The store sold me wax that has been sitting on...
The store sold me wax that has been sitting on the shelf over two years. When I used the wax the product came out chunky and like it had separated. I applied it to my project assuming if I just bought it it should still be good. It ruined my entire project by leaving behind a white haze that I could not get off. Talked to Behr and they said the only solution is to strip everything off and start over. I have already spent weeks on this project and i am very disappointed the store is not able to keep its supply fresh. I cannot find fresh wax at any of the Home Depot locations. Do not recommend trying to use these products since you cant know if the product has gone bad. Be careful buying and check the dates on the label to ensure you don’t end up in my position.

Wax on, wax OFF
Im seeing bad reviews for this product but I have painted 2 dressers with rustoleum chalk paint and finished it with this wax and they've turned out so good. After I let this wax set though I buff it out. Is it easy? No. Does it take some elbow grease? Yeah. But if you put in the work and buff this wax out it turns out really nice and solid. It isn't wax-y to the touch. You just have to really buff it out. I just used an old rag and alittle extra effort. If you don't buff utnout it will look bad

Ready to like
I painted a bed with Behr chalk paint, which I like. I did not want it antiqued, so I bought the clear wax. I recently used the white wax in the same product, and was very disappointed with it. I assumed clear meant clear. Wrong. It came out with yellow splotches. Fortunately, I can live with this, but it's not what I wanted. I am a fan of Behr paint, so I returned the wax and asked them to let the manufacturer know my concerns.

Dried chunky, slight yellowing
This was went on smoothly, but as I suspected dried a little yellow tinged. Since I was going for an antiqued look, a little yellow was fine. What I did not expect, was how crusty and flakey it would be when fully cured. This was got stuck in the fine cracks of my dresser and now needs to be sanded and resealed with my tried and true Annie Sloan furniture wax ☹️

Do not buy this product. I was refinishing a bedroom set and now it is only suitable for the curb. The "Clear" wax dried white and no amount of elbow grease will remove it. It looks like its covered in mold.
Watched the Behr Video before applying the wax, product acts nothing like what you see.
Not only am out the cost of the wax and 2 pints of paint, but two evenings of working on this and my bedroom set. Looked great before the wax went on.

Awesome stuff!
I built night tables out of oak 5 years ago and got sick of them so painted them the wall colour and waxed them. The end result is great, I put wine glasses, coffee cups, water and it still looks great. Every month or so I rub in a little more wax and it like new again.
Very happy with this produce!
