About This Product

The BEHR PREMIUM PLUS Ceiling Paint features a durable, acrylic-latex formula that is specifically designed for use on previously painted or primed interior ceilings. This spatter resistant formula minimizes glare and provides a mildew-resistant finish. This formula also maintains the original acoustical ceiling properties.

Instead, it's best to prime with our Multi-Surface Primer, let it dry for 12-24 hours, and then topcoat with our Premium Plus Ceiling Paint. However, our Premium Plus Ceiling Paint is available in the untinted Ultra Pure White color or can be tinted to the color of your choice. i used this to repaint the ceiling of a old rental property, it is obviously a good investment. it makes the rooms look newer and brighter. but the price has gone up recently.

Bought 3 cans of this for a ceiling job. 3 cans dried completely different shades and now have to be completely repainted. Terrible quality control

Does not adhere

Does not adhere well, hours after painting it started to cracks all over. Will never use Behr for painting again, switching to Glidden. Cheaper and better quality.

The paint met all of my expectations. It flows smoothly with minimal streaking and globs. The coverage was excellent hiding most of the ceilings imperfections. The color of white looks clean and consistent not being to bright. I would recommend this product for the do it your selfer as well as a beginner. Home Depot Behr paint products have been a staple in my for all paint needs for many years. It's my go to paint.

Inconsistent color

Not white, it’s gray. I used a 2 gallon container of this that was about a year old and painted our kitchen ceiling. It ran out so I bought this one which was the exact same product to finish painting the ceiling that went from the kitchen to the living room. The difference is drastic from the previous one to the new one. Prior paint is white. This one is gray. Both containers appear exactly the same as far as labeling.

If you value your time, do not use

This is by far the worst paint I have ever used, not just for ceilings but worst paint in general. I prepped the ceiling, primed and first coat of this Behr paint went well. Second coat was a nightmare. Streak marks. Paint flashes. Paint doesn't spread well. It felt like I was painting with a roller made of jeans fabric. I wish I had stuck with Glidden flat paint, which is what I have used in the past in multiple rooms with no issues. First time and last. You have been warned!!

Horrible Coverage

I have used Behr paint for as long as I can remember and have always had great results, that is until recently. I have painted two coats of ceiling paint and used two gallons on a 600 sq foot area and it looks worse than when I started. I have done two major renovations in the last couple months and used the Premium Plus for it all (bought it all before using, had I known would of only gotten the 1 gallon not 6) all of them have been garbage. almost 3 coats to go from a light gray wall to paint a same color family. 3 coats for my almost white shiplap wall to be painted white, and 3 coats for a light gray wall to blank canvas color. The formula clearly has changed and seems more watered down than previously. I bought two gallons of the Ultra for my ceiling and if that doesn't cover better I will definitely be done purchasing Behr going forward.

The Premium Plus Ceiling Flat Paint should cover in about two coats when applied to horizontal surfaces such as ceilings. However, this paint is not recommended for vertical surfaces such as walls. Not pure white

color comes mixed as “painters white” which is strange bc you can’t order any mixed color online. not sure why they sell it this way. it’s not even white. it’s beige. unbelievable. waste of money.
