Customer Reviews

1-gal. #901 Silver Gray 1 Part Epoxy Concrete Floor Paint is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 148.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Check Suppliers reviews before purchase We purchased the Behr Premium 1-Part Epoxy based on the reviews found here. We applied the paint after following all prep instructions to the letter. After the recommended 7 day wait period, the paint scratched off with a fingernail. So after waiting three weeks to park our vehicle on the surface, we find that the paint is being pulled up by the tires. After noting the problems, we checked the ratings of the paint on the supplier's website. a well known box-store. The ratings on that site were considerably lower, with many warnings from other consumers not to purchase. Naturally, after the expense of purchasing the paint and supplies, not to mention the time and energy spent on the prep work, we are most disapointed. We now are faced with the big job of removing the Behr paint, and replacing it with a better product. Would appreciate Behr's feedback.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only Product We Used that Flakes Last October we, a licensed painting contractor, applied Behr's 1-Part Epoxy Garage and Floor Paint on a customer's large garage floor. We followed all surface preparation instructions dutifully, since our reputation is always on the line and since our survival depends on that very reputation. After a few months, we received a call from our customer and were asked to inspect the floor as it was flaking. True enough, the coating had started to flake away all over the garage, and not just under where the tires normally would be. We were shocked upon seeing this, considering that we have been painting floors since 2001 and have never had a problem with other brands. I checked on the Home Depot website for reviews of this product. The reviews are overwhelmingly negative, with most reviewers stating that the product peels and flakes within a few days to a few months following application, just as we have found. We have been business customers of Behr's since 2001 are are now considering using another brand exclusively.. We absolutely do not recommend this product. The results may look good for a while only.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a serviceable paint for basement woodshop floor This paint covers well and dries quickly; otherwise it is unsatisfactory for my floor. As with all other waterborne paints, this doesn't dry with a hard, smooth surface. As a result it marks very easily, and the marks cannot be removed. Most of my woodworking machines have rubber wheels and/or casters. When I move the machines the wheels leave black marks on/in the paint--never the case with an oil based paint. Just can't imagine what car tires would do to it. A small air compressor weighing about 55 pounds and having rubber anti-vibration feet leaves black marks wherever it is set down. Finally, normal "dirt" tracked in from the garage or from outside adheres to the paint and does not mop up easily. Next time I'd go to the trouble and expense of a two-part expoxy coating, inasmuch as oil base paints no longer are available for the most part. My conclusion after having tried all the best brands of waterborne paints, stains, and polyurethanes for ALL purposes is that only latex wall paint is serviceable. The rest are poor substitutes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something's Changed I painted my garage floor with Behr's Concrete & Garage Floor Paint back in 2005. Over the years, it has started to show wear and look a but grungy so recoated with the same (but different) product. Followed the directions to the letter and after 7 days, pulled the cars back into the garage. Each tire left a big black image of the tread and it does not wash off. Even the bicycle tires leave black marks. Anything that's rubber leaves ugly marks. Then a hose leak leaves a puddle and when I go to wipe up the water, the paint is lifting up like it's softening from the water. This latter issue was more than 2 weeks after application. This isn't epoxy. It's nothing put latex paint. A real disappointment as the original product used held up very well. To add insult to injury, I highly recommended it to a friend based on my past experience. He is having similar problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing results Painted the garage floor 4 years ago when we built our house and product seemed to work well. Now 4 years later, salt and sand from winter roads have taken its toll on the floor so proceeded to redo the floor. After scraping, scrubbing and mopping the floor applied 2 coats of new paint to the floor and now a week later if any water gets on the new paint it blisters and peels. Does not seem to matter whether it is in an area the the old paint had completely worn off or along the sides or in the corners where the old paint was still good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Done right this coating works very well My garage floor is 55 years old. I used full strength degreaser and a deck brush. Hosed it off and let dry (85 degree days during summer time really help thinks dry and set-up nicely). I then applied the Behr clear bonding primer Model # 88001 let dry overnight and then applied 2 coats of the Silver Gray 1 part epoxy concrete paint. Second coating got the black/gray/white flakes hand sprinkled as I did a 7x7 foot area. Using a shaker bottle was a nice idea but takes to long; and by hand tossing is looks good and random with plenty of coverage. 20x20 foot garage with built-in cabinets so more like 18x18 foot. Used 2/3 gal primer, 1.5 gal of epoxy paint, and one bag of flakes. Been down for 3 months, no issues, even steam mopped it the other day. Spills wipe right up, a blower works great for regular cleaning. The car went back in after one-day of drying on wax paper for 2 days. Then I had an older indoor/outdoor 10x8 foot rug and park the car successfully on that. The backing of the indoor/outdoor carpet doesn't pull up paint like regular carpet. Real happy with it no. Looks to be holding excellent and if needed in 4-5 years I'll redo the high traffic areas, but no touch-up so far at all. Roller with extender, cut-in brush, and a little masking tape and paper........that's it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not durable for normal use I followed the instructions and used this paint for my concrete carport, front porch and rear screened patio I applied 2 coats with 24 hours dry time in between and allowed it to dry for over a week before parking or placing patio furniture. There were tire marks in the carport within days of parking The patio is scratched up from moving light patio furniture Front porch is scratched from who knows what? maybe a package delivery? dog feet? your guess is as good as mine My brother has also used the same paint in his garage twice with the same results as above We are in south Florida so maybe it's not good for humid climates? Not sure why this is sold as durable garage because it is certainly not that I guess it's better than nothing but certainly not a good product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible paint do not buy Followed all the information prior to painting my driveway, kept all traffic off for 3 days, and did not park my car on drive for 8 days, as per can instructions. Took my car out and it left tire marks , took my bike out and it left tire marks. Its now two weeks in and still leaving tire marks. I will have to re paint the whole thing again
