I got a eboxy garage floor it has got chips in it can I put concrete & GARAGE FLOOR PAINT over the old?
Asked by: tfnascar90
You can, as long as the old flooring isn't "Bubbled" or peeling-if it is, then chip until you get good adherence, then paint, otherwise you're wasting your time and money.

Does it need a primer or base coat?

Asked by: Jcbhome04
This is a one part latex based epoxy paint. Floor prep is really important as is cure time (5-7 days) So, the answer is really if it is a new surface, then just clean it and let it dry well before applying this product directly. If the surface has been previously painted then prep is important to product adhesion. Sometimes the best approach for previously painted surfaces is do your best to prep and then use a "gripper" paint that Home Depot sells before applying this one coat latex epoxy product

Started peeling within days and I still haven't brought the cars back inside the garage. I followed the instructions and watched a video. What I should have done was watch other videos of people who have used this paint and reported it as being awful. Don't waste your money. Now I'm seeing videos of what it's going to take to remove this off the garage floor. What a horrible mistake I've made.

I let it dry for 6 days before parking my car on it in the garage. Paint peeled up right where my tires rested. All that work for nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My driveway looks almost new! I used BEHR PREMIUM 1-Part Epoxy Concrete and Garage Floor Paint on my concrete driveway and was pleasantly surprised at how great it worked. I opted for the darkest gray color to complement the Clary Sage of the house exterior. All the neighbors were driving their golf carts back and forth on the street to take a look at the job. It's held up well and cleans up easily with a brush and water. I'm very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Then, started peeling and cracking. My garage floor looks worse than it did when it was just plain cracked grey concrete. I do not recommend this product. Now, I have a horrible looking floor and no way to fix it. We applied the flakes to add the extra design so now there is no way to fix the spots left by my husband's car and mine. We have 8 horrible tire marks where the paint has rubbed away in no time at all. And, we followed the directions and didn't park on it for 8 days after painting. No help. I read the reviews and saw all the unhappy customers but decided to try it anyway. Reviews don't lie.

But, when we parked our cars in the garage on the third day, the paint just came off where the tires of the car were parked at. It looks like the paint couldn't take the heat of the tire. We may have to redo the garage floor again.

I followed all the directions including using a concrete sander and then a cleaner etcher and finally thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust, dirt, etc. I applied two coats waiting the appropriate time in between. The floor looked great, however even after waiting the recommended time before parking a car in the garage their are spots under all four tires of both vehicles where the paint in gone. Almost looks like the hot tire melted the paint. Now I have to figure out what to do with the floor. Do I have to completely sand again before applying a different product? Not to mention the inconvenience of not being able to park my cars in the garage for another couple of weeks. This product should be pulled off the market or relabeled for just concrete floors, not garage floors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something's Changed I painted my garage floor with Behr's Concrete & Garage Floor Paint back in 2005. Over the years, it has started to show wear and look a but grungy so recoated with the same (but different) product. Followed the directions to the letter and after 7 days, pulled the cars back into the garage. Each tire left a big black image of the tread and it does not wash off. Even the bicycle tires leave black marks. Anything that's rubber leaves ugly marks. Then a hose leak leaves a puddle and when I go to wipe up the water, the paint is lifting up like it's softening from the water. This latter issue was more than 2 weeks after application. This isn't epoxy. It's nothing put latex paint. A real disappointment as the original product used held up very well. To add insult to injury, I highly recommended it to a friend based on my past experience. He is having similar problems.

This is nothing but latex interior house paint repacked as floor paint. I am infuriated after spending 3 days painting my shop floor. After I let it dry for 2 days I moved my stuff back in and got the floor dirty. So I decided to mop it real quick. This water was on the floor less than 2 minutes and it bubbled and started coming off. 3 days of pure wasted time plus the cost of this product. Honestly guys. Are you seriously selling this product and expecting people won't get their floor wet once in awhile????
