Premium BEHR INTERIOR?

Is Antique White #1823 available in Behr Satin interior, and if so at what cost?
Asked by: leelee
You can pick any white you want and they will mix it at no extra cost above the normal of a bit over $30/gallon. If you need one-coat-coverage you will have to pay $10 more and get the Behr Marquis paint in your color choice.

Can someone please tell me how to remove/dissolve Behr Inerior Satin Enamel--Ultra Pure White from carpet? I have some spots of this paint in my carpet--old and completely dry. I've tried all kinds of solvents. So far nothing works. There must be something that will dissolve this stuff --without destroying the carpet :)
Asked by: matt
This is what works fir me. 1. If the paint is still wet, I immediately clean the excess with a paper towel then follow up with a very wet rag. Cleaning over and over rotating the rag always using a nice wet clean section. 2. If the drip occurred and I didn't notice it at the time so it's now sticky, I leave it alone and let it dry overnight so it's a hard bubble the next day. Once it's hard I chip it off with my fingers. This works with floor or carpet. 3. If neither of the above works and it's a high pile carpet, I carefully trim the top surface off cutting out the paint. 4. I've also been known to put a rag covered in vinegar on the spot to soften the paint. Then use a clean rag covered in vinegar to clean the softened spot.

Can I apply polyurethane as the final coat to protect applied glaze?

I will use this to paint bedroom furniture, and then glaze it, wiping off most of the glaze to leave it in the crevices only. Can I apply a satin finish polyurethane to protect the glaze?
Asked by: Lynn
I don't see why not. That's a creative idea. I'd try a section on the bottom of the furniture first to see if it's the effect you are looking for.

Swiss Coffee is a pretty standard color so they don't even mix it. You can grab it off the shelf, but I suggest you tell them to mix it for you before you buy it. They'll be happy to shake it up for you. It does kind of stink to me compared to the more expensive paints, but it's convenient. I think coverage is ok. Not great. I don't fall for the "Primer in one" at all. Let's say you have semi gloss right now, you can't just paint satin, eggshell, or flat over it. You may be able to get away with semi gloss over semi gloss but it's still recommended to wipe it with a TSP and/or sandpaper it a little bit.

I purchased two 1 gallons of the same Satin enamel for a room and I liked it enough that I figured id buy the 5 gallon bucket to save money for the same quality. Well I ended extremely disappointed. The paint is thinned down requiring more coats to match the other rooms and to top it off I didn't save since I had to use more paint plus time and work. I do not recommend the 5 gallon just go with 1 gallon buckets.

After finishing the first coat of grey, I went over missed areas with a second coat. The missed areas turned to a pink tint. Showed it to the paint dept and the asst manager. They blamed it on my wall and/or that I had a different color before. Both of which were untrue. The wall was eggshell before I painted it grey. Luckily the can I brought in had drips on the side that showed the pink tint and the manager saw it. Someone didn't mix my can properly and I get accused of doing something wrong. It caused a scene which I didn't like. They gave me a new can and no issues after that.

We spent about 120 dollars to do the small room. We fell in love with Behr with it's one coat coverage. The first room we used it in was another 10 x 11 room and it only took 3/4 of a gallon. I will never use anything else.

The only reason that I am only giving it 4 stars is due to the primer portion. I own a 100 yr old house that had insulation blown into the plaster lathe walls prior to my purchase. The areas of the patches had been painted already so I did not bother to prime them since this paint has primer in it. However, now after some time those patched spots have now bled through the paint. All in all I love the Behr paint. It washes very well if needed and it dries nice and even without requiring a second coat. I have used it for several years and this is the first time I had anything require additional priming. Good paint!

I chose this paint over the higher quality Marquee label because it is zero VOC, which is important to me and my family. The paint I would say is good for a zero VOC paint -- most, even the high-end zero VOC paints are generally thinner than their low VOC counterparts. This is the trade-off for zero VOC. The paint went on easily over the pale green paint in our bathroom, but it did require two coats to cover. We chose the Behr "Dove" color, which proved to be a good neutral choice that goes well with our tile and counters, and the satin nickel fixtures in our bathroom.

Purchased satin interior 'ivory palace' to repaint walls of new home to match original paint job as applied by new home construction painters. Small wall surfaces ran into issues with roller marks so tried a variety of roller covers. Thought foam might be best but turned out that 1/4 inch nap was best performer. Small wall sections did ok with the 1/4 nap but on large walls, could not eliminate roller marks even after mixing in floetrol. Good paint but lots of rework and extra effort trying to minimize roller marks on overlap. Would I buy again, maybe not.
