Can this primer be used to prim/seal over wood trim that has been stained and polyurethaned?
Asked by: Paul
Hi Paul, You cannot use this primer for wood. It was ment only for new Drywall installations! Try using Zinsser or Rust-plenum for a wood configuration.

It didn't hide the drywall & joint compound lines were still visible after 2 coats then it bubbled & separated from the drywall after applying Behr premium plus top coat even after letting the primer dry overnight. Looks like the primer soaked up the moisture from top coat. I won't use this again.

While furnishing my basement a friend provided me with 5 gallons left over from his home project. Drywall dust was removed by vacuuming followed by sweeping with a Swiffer pad. After thoroughly mixing I turned the application phase to my teenage son. He did stir periodically to keep the tray well mixed (his quote). When I inspected the wall there were small particles sporadically covering the surface. No idea the cause as I didn't see any during mixing. Since the wall was dry, I could remove the particles with my finger nail leaving an shallow indentation where the particle was. So any idea on the cause? How about remediation method? BTW I've used Behr paints throughout my house when repainting without any problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should Have Bought Kilz Redid our basement with new sheetrock - at home depot to get paint and I had my hand on kilz- the employee persuaded me to get this over kilz. Bad bad bad idea. 2 coats later and I can still see the grey of the drywall. Man am I disappointed & probably have arthritis from doing double the work. The employee said no, you will only need one coat, the kilz, you'll need at least two coats - Behr was $20 more than kilz. Should have saved my money & you should too!!

I have always used Kilz in the past, but this applies so much more smoothly with less brush strokes and a faster drying time. It seems to be less odor as well, which is great! We've used it after sanding down old paint, after hanging new dry wall, and after removing old wallpaper (as seen in the picture). Getting ready to start the risers on our stairs this week, and looking forward to another great Behr coat!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This sealer acts like a bright white pant with less... This sealer acts like a bright white pant with less than average coverage; it takes 2 to 3 coats to eliminate brush marks. It is watery and does not fill in pits or nail holes. But it does set the wall up nicely (for sticking) for back splash glass tiles as I have used. I guess that is the primary use for this product. So I would rate it with 4 stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible doing a brand new bathroom, new drywall the works. First issue I had was on the ceiling, I primed the ceiling and walls at the same time with behr premium plus two coats. 24 hrs later I painted the ceiling. 24 hrs after I taped the ceiling with painters tape and I painted the walls. after I was done the walls 12 hrs later I pulled of the tape from ceiling along WITH the paint and the primer, so now I had spots with no paint or primer cause the tape took it off!! never run into that before so I thought maybe I should have let it cure longer. thinking it was my fault I left it and tiled the tub surround. so a week later I come back tape the walls on top so I can fix the ceiling. I finish fixing it and I take the tape off and now the wall paint and primer comes off... after a week?!?! I feel the drywall mud behind it and its raw! no primer whatsoever, so now I peel it off again try to fix it but will be going over it with a different product!!!
