How do i thin this paint for spraying....

I am painting the doors of a bath vanity and would like a very smooth look so will be using an air paint sprayer. How do i thin this paint to apply with the pain sprayer.

water based enamel = a bit of clean water mixed in works well for brushing, but I spray it as-is from the can

Is it ok to paint it on a ceiling? (3 questions)

Q1: I've never painted before... and while I was searching for this Behr Paint, I saw some of them were labeled for "ceiling." Do we use different type of paint for walls and ceilings? Q2: I am looking for a sample of Behr Premium Plus Ultra Pure White #1050. I couldn't find it on the Home Depot website... Do they have them in the store? Q3: I found a 10 year old(probably older) Behr #1050 paint that the previous home owner had left... It's not dried but looks kind of yellowish and smells like poison. I shouldn't use this, right...? Thank you...

Q1 - Ceiling white is generally a flat paint and will give the feeling of more warmth in the room...,.. It's a good thing. Q2 - I don't believe HD has "Samples". The high end paint stores have 4(?) ounce samples but the price of their paints make them VERY expensive. Get the color swatch/cards and do the best you can. It'll be fine. Q3 - Spread some on some cardboard every few days until it's all gone and dried up . That's the only safe way of disposing it. I wouldn't think of using paint that's questionable ~ it's too much work to worry about the price of the paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paint. My wife went into HD and wanted some paint for our guest room. The consultant was... Great paint. My wife went into HD and wanted some paint for our guest room. The consultant was very helpful. He sold her some great paint and some primer to cover a dark paint we had on alternating walls. The color my wife chose was a very soft pink that was almost off-white. I have painted our house several times and I told her that she didn't need the primer since she bought the Paint and Primer in one. I got nearly finished with the job and needed one more quart because I didn't listen to the experts. If I would have primed the two walls I would not have had to go back and get another gallon. Don't be a man and think you know better. I have painted our house at least 3 times in the 30 years we have owned it and painted over several dark colors that we had painted for our kids when they were younger. If you don't want to prime over dark colors buy extra paint and save the extra trip. The paint went on easily and looks great, but listen to the experts.

I was a little skeptical at first, thinking 5 gallons would be a bit much compared to the more mainstream 1 gallon bucket. I took a leap and decided on the 5 gallons, and boy am I glad I did. My partner and I were able to just blow through the whole first floor of the house in a matter of two hours. My partner said he likes how the matte finish covers up all the little imperfections in the wall as opposed to glossy paint, which accentuates it. Since we had 3 gallons left over, I dipped a rag in the bucket and slapped him in the face as I agreed with him. Hopefully they sell floor cleaner in a 5 gallon bucket.

I used this paint to cover original contractor white (13 years) painted hallway walls. I liked the minimal smell and the smoothness of application with roller and brush to cut in. The color was a beige type (Dainty Lace), so over white I figured it would for sure be a one coat. I first tested it on a couple places where my 3 year old step daughter got a hold of a sharpie and demonstrated her art skills (I tried the magic eraser which helped, but only about 50%). I noticed when the paint dried (which by the way was surprisingly fast- less than 30 minutes to the touch), I could see the "art" bleed through slightly. I brushed over it with 1 more coat and then it was gone. I did this to all the other spots where it might bleed through as well. I'm an experienced though not professional painter, and I realize the need for proper prep work. I liked this product overall and would really give it a 4.5 star rating if I could! I used 2 gallons for about 550 sq ft on dry paint sucking walls which I think isn't bad!

BEHR Premium Plus Ultra Pure White Flat Exterior Paint to paint the outside of my home (siding and trim), and two 5-gal. BEHR Premium Ultra Pure White Eggshell Enamel Interior Paint for the inside of my home. I have always purchased and have been pleased with the BEHR products. The interior paint was applied consistent with the manufacturer recommends, resulting in easy application and good coverage. For the exterior siding and trim, I prepared the surfaces using the BEHR mfg. recommendations. The paint applied easily and had good coverage for the siding and trim. After one year and an entire 2010 Texas summer, the paint on my trim began to peel off. By the end of the 2nd year (2011) the pain was all peeled off where the direct sunlight hits the wood. I am very disappointed with the performance of the exterior paint product. Now in 2014 I now need to repaint all of my trim boards, and I am having 2nd doubts about purchasing a BEHR exterior paint product.

This is weak paint, both in terms of pigmentation and latex content and is very 'watery'. I have been painting for over 25 years and have used most brands like Behr, Glidden/PPG, Valspar, Sherwin William, Benjamin Moore, generic brands, etc. This is at the lower end of the spectrum and not worth what you pay for it as it compares to the 18-22 dollar paint you can buy at Wal-Mart. It drips easily and after priming with a quality primer, I still had to put on 3, that's right 3, coats of this paint to prevent bleed thru. I am not sure what the people at Consumer Reports were doing when they ranked this behind Marquee as second best in interior paints, but it is no where near what Marquee is and I would not use it again, ever. I don't have anything against Behr and I think their exterior Premium Plus is definitely worth what you pay for it and does a great job as an exterior paint, but no way would I ever use this for interior again. For almost the same price, go with Glidden/PPG Timeless, also sold at HD, and you get a much better quality paint for the interior. I used the Timeless in my bathroom and one coat over primer is all I needed for great color coverage and consistency in texture.

I consider myself a semi-professional painter; someone who paints as well as a professional but doesn't get paid [strictly my house, family or friends]. We have been a Benjamin-Moore house for 35 years. We had to start a paint project on a room and started on a weekend when B-M dealer was closed. My wife made the wise decision to try this paint. The rep @ Jupiter HD paint dept. was very helpful and matched the B-M (harbor mist) color wifey had picked out, mixed up a gallon of the tintable base primer/paint in one. I wasn't sure if 1 gal. would be sufficient but started painting with the idea 'I can always get another quart mixed'. I was able to finish the room and had between a pint/quart left over! Went on smooth as silk, as good or better than B-M ever has. The coverage was amazing and the color is breath-taking when you walk in the room. I guess we will be a Behr house from now on.

My wife and I have bought quite a bit of paint over the years, numerous brands and price points included. We have found that it actually takes more effort and time to use lower quality paint to get our home looking fresh and perfect. We can do it much easier and painting is more pleasurable and with more pride in the finished appearance using Behr products. The coverage is more uniform and not only dries tougher, but is more consistent and reliable over the years. Some other paints literally washed right off with mild scrubbing. Not only is this line of Behr a solid performing paint it can be found as a stock product at any Home Depot. We are using it for updating all the trim, inside the closet's, and even revitalized our kitchen cabinets. For us, there's no other brand. When it comes to dollar cost, upgrade value, sense of pride, and reliability we just can't compromise or take chances with other products. You may as well do it right the first time and you can count on that with Behr.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed with Ultra Pure White eggshell interior I am very disappointed with this product.. I used the Pure White eggshell to paint a ceiling that was cream off white color.. I needed to repaint the ceiling 4 separate times to meet a minimum cover I could live with, I am still very dissatisfied with the end result but simply have wasted enough money on a living room ceiling.. 2 times with a med nap roller and 2 times with a 4" Purdy hand held paint brush each a day apart for drying time.. This paint is not worth your time to use...I returned to the store to express my disappointment to the paint counter and was told "well you always need to do at least 2 coats of any paint""" 2 coats would have been acceptable to me ,,,4 coats is borderline ridiculous and a waste of money.. I have worked in the construction field for over 40 years.. I assure you that I know how to prep and install paint.. the problem is NOT with the installation ,, it is the product.. I can not recommend BEHR paint for paint product and feel as if I have wasted my money
