Q:I'm repainting a fence that was previously painted another color. Do I need to use a primer with this or is this a 2in1 paint+primer?

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Eric, thank you for your question. You do not need to use a separate primer to repaint the fence. The first coat of the self-priming Ultra Exterior Paint will be a primer coat and additional coats will build up the color and coverage. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna

Q:What if you accidentally use this exterior paint and primer on the interior? Is it harmful, and how can you fix this?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Bethany, thanks for the question. Although using exterior paint on the interior of the home isn't harmful, it isn't recommended because exterior paint isn't as scrubbable as interior paint. Interior paint dries to a harder finish than exterior paint. I'd recommend applying a coat of interior paint over the exterior paint and that will resolve the issue. Have a great day! -Ronald

      New plastic paint can
I’m disappointed the new paint can is made of plastic. The lid and the pour gadget is plastic. We are supposed to be avoiding the use of plastic. How do the chemicals in plastic affect paint? How are these new plastic paint cans going to be reused or properly recycled? If we can paint a wall, we don’t need a pour gadget for “convenience.” It’s not convenient, it’s a waste of energy and resources. We’d already have a paint brush in our hands, because we’re painting. The actions of today will affect our future and generations to come.

      Response from BehrMar 11, 2020
      Hi Karin,
Thanks for taking the time to review our product. Keeping our environment in mind, the new SIMPLE POUR lids are 100% recycled plastic and the new lid does not affect the chemicals in the paint at all. The new spout was made to help make it more convenient to pour the paint into a tray. However, the paint can still be used the traditional way and removed like normal. That way, if you want to paint directly out of the container with your brush, you certainly can. If you'd like, feel free to reach out directly to our Customer Care Department for any questions or concerns you might have. Enjoy the rest of your day, and thanks again for your feedback - Vince Behr

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using it on my shed for the trim. White over red paint. Covers the red just fine and looks good.

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to review our Ultra Exterior Paint. I'm sorry to hear about the cracking and peeling on your wood siding. To fix this, I recommend sanding to remove the cracking/peeling areas and cleaning with a damp cloth. Once dry, you can touch up with leftover paint and apply a full coat for color uniformity (if needed). I've also reached out to you via email to get more details about your project and assist further. Thanks again for reaching out, and I hope to hear back from you soon! -Christina
                        All BEHR paint
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using BEHR paint for the last 19 years and I do not have a single complaint about it. Before that I used Benjamin Moore and I am very glad I switched. I think BEHR is the best paint out there.
