- For best application, use a high quality 3/8 in. - 1/2 in. nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush or airless sprayer (0.015 in. - 0.019 in. spray tip, 60 mesh filter)
- Use BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a primer for properly prepared uncoated or painted interior surfaces, including woods that contain tannins (2 primer coats required for redwood and cedar) and heavily stained areas
- Lock in stains with BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a spot primer, for heavy stains, test for stain bleed-through by applying BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint to a small section, if stain bleeds through, spot prime another coat to the stained area and test again before top coating, if bleeding continues, a longer dry time is needed before top coating

Not great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought behr ultra white semi-gloss for our laundry room and kitchen. Kilz the walls with 2 coats and 2 coated a 6x8 laundry room and a 12x16 kitchen. Needless to say it's not enough, still bleeding through. It's so disappointing.

Hi there, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with the coverage of your paint. Typically, our Ultra Interior Paint will cover in two coats. However, drastic color transitions may require additional coats for uniformity. To fix the issue, I recommend allowing the paint to dry for 24 hours. Paint dries from the outer layer inward, and this may allow the finish to even out so you can decide whether another coat is necessary. This stuff is amazing!

No matter how often I ask them not to crash things into the walls it happened on a daily basis yet I was invariably able to wipe away any marks without leaving a permanent mark on the wall. This stuff is magic!

How does this rate 4.7 stars? Terrible paint.
Very unhappy with this product. Runny. I'm painting white over ivory, but this still is not covering in one coat. The product is also not covering a light stain after three coats. This has lead to a huge loss of my time and money. I do not recommend the semi-gloss at all.

The Ultra Interior Paint should have a creamy consistency and typically covers in two coats. Darker colors and porous surfaces may require additional coats. Switching
I have tried to give Behr a couple chance for furniture and wall paint. But even after surface prepping and double coating you literally can take your fingernails and scratch the paint right off the surface. A tiny bump will scratch the paint.

My 1st choice here’s why…
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy application that goes on evenly without leaving roller or brush marks. Two coats is all that’s necessary for full coverage. I’ve been doing interior painting for almost 30 years and used all competitor brands and this is my #1 top choice! Not only is application the best but the durability of the finished product rate top notch. Resistant to scuffs, scratches and stains. Very washable.

Behr Ultra Scuff Defense
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased our house back in April 2022, the previous owner decided to paint the bathroom in a very cheap way and the old paint was bubbling and pealing away, I took the time to read up on the Behr products and how I could make this room in my house correct, I purchased two different products from Behr, one was a base coat and this one as the top coat. All the products I purchased from Behr were great but this one really impressed me, the ease of use and the coverage was amazing. great product and now I have great protection on my bathroom wall, superior paint to others I have used. Right after I painted the bathroom and it was dry. I hung a few things up on the bathroom wall one fell off with a little help from one of the Grand kids it scuffed the wall as it fell. I took a wet cloth and wiped the wall and it was like magic it was gone. Thank you for making such a great product.
