Please advise on what you did. Same situation except it’s the top lid that slams. Not sure if I’d like to remove it and take it back to the store (seems a bit unsanitary).

This item is designed to fit all elongated bowl toilets. There is also a round bowl option. One of the two would be correct for a Glacier Bay toilet.

Mine straitened itself with no problem. The bottom piece of plastic broke off at the precise time it should to avoid overtightening - which could crack the porcelain.
It will come off with no problem when you use a crescent wrench or pliers on the plastic piece beneath.
There is no slot for a screw driver to remove
Hi Ocd It does remove easy for cleaning. But between you and i, would never put my toilet seat no matter how clean it is, and believe me it is clean, clean it every day. I would not put it in my dishwasher, and heat cycle would most likely hurt it.
