A fantastic little clamp. Can clamp and release one handed - see photo. Someone with a really strong little finger could release with just that finger. I needed the finger next to little one. Opens to true 2" and will catch on first ratchet lock at a full 2". Very heavy duty for a 2" clamp and extremely well made just like all of my Bessie tools. So easy to store too. I hung mine on the bottom of my overhead cabinets.

This 4 pack of Bessey clamps came in very handy when I re-purposed a set of hanging brackets I use for scrap wood storage in my barn. I was able to easily clamp the 2 brackets together, which made cutting and drilling quicker in prep for hanging.

These are alright for light weight stuff that you don't want too much pressure on. The ratcheting system that they use will only let you get so much pressure then it doesn't matter how much more you squeeze it if it doesn't click too the next tooth that's all you're going to get, It should be enough pressure for glueing most woods together. But I doubt that they would hold something tight enough for working on it.

Great for light carpentry.
Great for applications where I need to assemble and clamp down wood parts for drying after cementing. Doesn't leave impressions in the wood, and is tight enough to lock items into place overnight. Also has many other uses. I compared to similar items from other manufacturers (Irwin, Milwaukee), and I liked these the best.

(What's this)
These are a good idea, but limited in application as they lock and slip, plus they get to a point and will not go to the next tooth to lock down. I was very disappointing that they are so poorly built and lack firm clamping strength as I do a lot of DIY projects. I tried them on sheet metal the hold two pieces together for drilling holes. One clamp was OK and the other was between tooth's, to loose on one and would not tighten down to the next and fell off each time I turn the piece around. So, each one of the clamps is just a bit difference in how they fit (tooth locking) so if you plan to glue anything you will get uneven pressure on your wood which will weaken the bond. Even an old spring tension clamp would beat theses in a holding.

These are very nice clamps for the price. The wide-opened gap is about 2-1/8". The no-mar grip pads swivel just enough ease use. Hand force determines pressure. Pretty standard stuff except for one very nice feature: there's a trigger release inside the handle.

This light set of hand clamps is perfect for wordwork. They are easy to tighten and release. The pivoting noses are great but you have to be careful as their movement may cause the clamps or whatever you are clamping to move. They jaws up about 2" so they are only suitable for small applications. Overall, great product for somewhat delicate wood-joining.
