AnswersPlastic. Very little "rubber" on most tools sold today.. Still, they grip well and I would say without hesitation that these are the best clamps I've ever owned; I use them all the time.

You know the old saying, "you get what you pay for"? Well, that's not always the case nowadays. Quality and craftsmanship has certainly taken a mega-dive in the last few decades. I had a clamp which I purchased 3 or 4 years ago and never used it until last week... It broke in a most unexpected way as I was clamping onto a project. Good thing I picked up that Bessey! Good solid clamp! I expect many years of use out of it.

The clamp does what it's supposed to do. Weighs a bit more than some of my other clamps of the same length but not enough to be a problem.
The only problem with this purchase was the Home Depot online inventory. One store was said to have 4 in stock but only 1 (which I purchased) was actually in the store. Another store, according to the online inventory, had 3 but actually had 4 in stock.
