AnswersI used these for cabinet assembly to hold 3/4" plywood on edge at a perfect square. I think they would easily handle your picture frame. Each side of the clamp is about 3" so that's the minimum dimension frame you could assemble, as well as the maximum size of frame width that they could handle.

For small jobs, especially with 1" or thinner stock, this is perfect. I built a small learning tower for my daughter using this and it made the joints so much better than they would have been without it. I only wish it was made in the US but hey, it worked.

They do the job. Nothing fancy, very basic and that’s all you really need for making a picture frame (within the clamp’s size range).
There are lots of different choices (& pricy) for clamping boards at a 90* angle. However you’d still need 4 of them. If you need to make some sort of square/rectangle with 45* angles these will work just fine. Also they leave the end of the corner exposed so you can see the alignment and/or do some other operation to the corner too.
There are heaver duty sets which are better, but these get the job done.
