Q:Can you tell me which clamp would be best after using wood glue on a wooden kitchen drawer.

Answer This Question

A:  Either F-style, bar, spring, screw or parallel clamps would be fine as long as the jaw pad is cushioned so as to not mar the work surface. Experience would guide you to not over-tighten the clamp. For me personally, I like parallel clamps for this situation.

I research and tried many other f-clamps and found Bessey to be the best. Things I found with other clamps such as Pittsburgh and less expense clamps actually flexed or had too small of clamp surface. I bought the medium duty Bessey clamps which provide sufficient clamping force for bending wood projects which require a lot of torque.

This product is a step ahead of some of the other clamps I have. You can never have enough clamps. And I find using the right size clamp for a project is really important especially when doing complicated glue ups. Clamps that are too big can just get unwieldy and slow you down when speed is critical. I really like the increased throat depth of these clamps and the handles are much easier to grip when tightening. And as they are about half the price of the trigger style clamps and only a few dollars more than the light duty version of this clamp, I consider them to be reasonable value.

You know the old saying, "you get what you pay for"? Well, that's not always the case nowadays. Quality and craftsmanship has certainly taken a mega-dive in the last few decades. I had a clamp which I purchased 3 or 4 years ago and never used it until last week... It broke in a most unexpected way as I was clamping onto a project. Good thing I picked up that Bessey! Good solid clamp! I expect many years of use out of it.

Strong clamp! Used it when building a 30' x 12' western red cedar patio and deck. Held 4"x12" beams in place 12 feet overhead and we had zero worries about the clamps being over loaded. I know not many consumers put their clamps through that much abuse, bit for tgose few industry guys and gals looking at this particular one, rest assured it will suck the bow out of a 4x12!

We have a welding shop. We needed to clamp some steel shelving before welding and we needed something that was big enough and also strong enough. These clamps did the job, Bessey is a great company. They are made very well and they are versatile. Great clamps

      Great clamps
These clamps clamp! The pressure is great the clutch does not slip, the pads do protect the area from being damaged, even in cedar. I am a diy type, not professionnal but I feel these clamps would suit even the most demanding professionnal. I have a feeling these will become my go to clamps.

Better than the old C Clamps
So easy to use. Run the clamp down the bar until it's snug; then tighten with handle until it's tight. Plastic pads do not bite into the wood or mark it like the old C-clamps. I am learning to use my new router and it has held the practice material and guide down efficiently.
