The unit has built-in voltage protection, but for surge protection, we recommend using an external surge protector.
How do I purchase the power cable, as it's not included?
The power cable is not included. Please purchase a 14-gauge, 20A cable locally as needed.

Yes, it's pre-charged with R-410A refrigerant and requires a vacuum pump for installation. We recommend hiring a licensed installer for installation.

What's the lowest operating temperature for the outside unit? I live in IL where it can (and has) well below freezing - 20 below and up.
Dear Customer, Working temperature will be between 5�F (-15�C) ~ 126� (52�C), when outside temp. below 32�F (0�C), then "Heat Belt" on the Outside unit will start working automatically to prevent any freezing condition, and will keep running Thank you

I believe you can control the unit from where there is WIFI as it is done through the phone.
I have an installation that will need a shorter line. How much can I cut off of the lines without worrying about the system being over full.
