1.2 Amp Corded Detail Mouse Sander

I would have given this a 5 because it worked really well....until it didn't. I was using it to sand a coffee table to repaint. On the 2nd use of it - halfway through the whole head (the black part at the bottom of the orange part that holds the sand paper) just started to fall right off. Something in that must have snapped because there is no way I can put it back together. So, it was a great little sander, fit in the hand well, got the job (1/2 done) with minimal effort but sadly because it broke I can't give it more than a 2. I'm hoping the store will take it back as I didn't keep the box.

Bought this specifically to sand half lap joints. These joints are too narrow for any other power sander. The nose extension got in there and cleaned up the joints in no time. The straight sides of the nose extension was able to get all the way into the corners. Great little tool for this type of small, hard to reach job.

Within 5 minutes of use the front-end (nose) of the mouse started to deform and the supplied paper separated, gummed up and the hook and loop closure became unusable. Not a happy camper, time to revisit the local store

The corded Black and Decker 1.2 amp (DETAIL) sander has been a great addition to my essential wood working tools. I did read the previous reviews on the product and decided to purchase it and try it out myself, I was refinishing the steps inside my home and I needed a compact, lightweight sander that had a finger attachment which could sand between the spindles of the steps. The mouse sander worked better than I could have had imagined, The 1.2 amp motor was powerful enough to do between the stair spindles and also the steps (I was using a bigger sander for the step area but found that the mouse sander done a better job and was easier to control). The finger attachment is removable all you need is a #2 Phillip screwdriver to remove it, the sander comes with hook and loop sand paper, unfortunately the replacement brand sand paper that Home Depot sells (Diablo) does fit the sander but the holes do not line up, (you can purchase the exact fit sand paper through black and Decker at AMAZON, I have listed the part numbers below). The sander comes with 2 sanding sheets, 1 finger sanding sheet and a finger attachment holder which is attached to the cord, the see through, micro filtration dust collector works well and very easy to open and dispose of dust, additional benefits is that it has a 2 year limited warranty, you can also order polishing sheets and it has a three position grip control. I would highly recommend the mouse detail sander to anyone interested in purchasing it and the price is very reasonable. (In regards to the previous reviews it is important to use hook and loop sand paper with this unit any other sand paper will just slide off and until HOME DEPOT stocks the exact fit sand paper order your replacement sanding sheets through Black and decker at AMAZON) (I take time to do product reviews after every major purchase, help keep me doing them by rating my review) hope this review was helpful. Needed a detail sander to help with refinishing furniture. Within first 45 mins the tip pad under the sandpaper came loose. Only sanding the corners of a dresser not refinishing a car. Good grief. There’s very little power to this and, although I knew this, no adjustable speed. The extendable tip was a good idea but it doesn’t come with the tool to remove it to put on extender. What the heck? Tip: pay the $50+ plus more for a quality detail sander as it’s well worth your time and money!

Cheaply made materials pad breaks down easily and must be replaced

Broke after about 30 minutes. Didn't even finish the job.

It is great little sander. But had anyone on this platform needed help contacting black and Decker replacement screws for the mouse sander? HELP! PLEASE
