Do not waste your money. Poor quality, and unable to jump start a failing v6 650 cca battery in a v6 mustang. This is a glorified phone charger.

Everything was working, but when I turned on the inverter it exploded and smoke began to come out from the inside.

The LED light turns on by itself, thus draining the battery. Even if I turn it off, it will turn itself back on. I hope to return it and replace it with a different product.

Zero information on which direction an extension cord should be plugged in. Not on the device symbol labeling, not in the manual, not on the manufacturer website. Manufacturer seems to have published a YT video explaining how to use basically every product they make EXCEPT this one. If their manual had any useful information, or if their support website had the simplest answers to the most fundamental issues, this would get 3 stars instead of 2. Save your money. Buy any brand except B&D. At least get one that tells you how to charge it without potentially causing an acid battery explosion in your house.

Great compact and fairly light unit. This is a more simple and elegant way of starting your car without messy, long, and potentially entangled jumping cables. In the back of the unit is a cap hiding a standard two prong male AC plug. It is necessary to have an extension cable plugged into the jump starter during charging. After the unit is charged it can be used for usb, and lighter jack applications to power other things and of course starting a car with a dead battery. A standard charge will last about 30 days. A battery status light in the front of the unit tells the amount of charge ranging from high to low. I have used the unit on low to jump start a mid size truck with no issues. To start a car with a bad battery, one simply attaches the correct color polarity clamps and turns the switch to on position. The car ignition can be turned right away without wait time, as the self contained battery has more than enough potential charge to turn the starter on most mid size vehicles. This unit is roughly 1 foot squared and 3 in in depth so it will fit easily and safely in the trunk of a car, camper, or RV.

I bought this product back in November 2014 (couldn't wait for the Black Friday sales sadly). I kept it in the car this tough winter because the engine has had trouble turning over. Even though I have Husky 12-foot 8-gauge jumper cables, they are useless if another car doesn't stop. One day, neighbors woke me up and asked if I had jumper cables. I got out the jump starter and on one try, their engine turned over. The best extension cord for this jump starter is a Husky 12 ft. 16/2 Extension Cord. I am very pleased with this product!
