Product Overview

Combining a simple, classic design with an array of modern conveniences, this powerful iron quickly and easily smoothes out wrinkles. The unit's fabric-select dial and convenient fabric guide make it easy to choose the right amount of heat needed for the job, while its aluminum soleplate creates crisp creases and comes with a pointed tip that works well for getting into pleats, between buttons, and along seams. Other highlights include an "on" indicator light, a thumb-activated steam-surge button, an anti-drip system that prevents water spotting at low temperatures, a pivoting cord, and a stable heel rest. For enhanced safety and peace of mind, the iron will shut off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity if left on its soleplate or tipped over on its side; if left vertically on its heel rest, it will shut off after 8 minutes.

Where is the power button and the water level indicator?

Answers

Thank you for your question, Day. This iron does not feature a power button or switch. The iron will continue to draw power as long as it is plugged in. There is not a water level indicator marking on the exterior of the iron, but the iron will hold approximately 1/4 - 2 cups of water depending on the model.

Where do you put the water

The water goes in the top of the iron.

It doesn't even work!!!
This iron has a mind of its own!!! Doesn't matter which way I laid it, the power indicator flickered green but then turned off right away. Couldn't get it to heat up! Brrrr. I'm returning it to get a different brand. How disappointing!!! Used to be my favorite!!!

Great Classic Iron!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this iron for a month now and I love it! It has a feel of a nice, older "classic" irons. It glides very easily, has one dial to adjust the temperature and no leaks. It fills easily and the iron has been nice and professional. So simple to use. Highly recommended!

works great and sure makes me feel better!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the b&d classic iron about a week ago and i have used it non stop, it works great and i love the steam features because it helps me get this nasty wrinkles out of all of my husband's work pants and same thing with my boys pants, so far its doing an amazing job unlike my old one. With the classic iron i do the job fast and i found my self ironing more constantly. Crazy i know! (Will not let me upload more than one pic)

B&D Classic Steam Iron
The only iron we ever want to use. We just wish more stores carried this model.

Seems like a good iron
I have only used this iron a couple of times since I bought it in late December ( 3 weeks ago). I like the feel - it is heavier than recent irons I have had, it feels solid. All the settings seem to work well. I am hoping it will last many years. My last 3 irons have lasted only 3 years on average, which to my way of thinking is not great.

Quality has gone down
I have been using and buying this iron since I was a little girl. And when 1 stops functioning, I immediately replace it. It use to be the best iron ever. But as of late, I'm seeing the decline in the quality. I've had to replace this iron twice in 2 months. It is constantly leaking, but it stops working because there is a short in the cord, then eventually it goes out completely. Can you guys go back to the old QA with this product to make it great again?

Never Spits Water!
I love this iron because it rarely spits water through the steam vents plus it's almost identical to the one my mother used. I bought two to have a spare in case it ever goes off the market. (Please, no.)

Nice and lightweight.
So happy to buy this iron; the biggest asset is no more dripping of water...EXCELLENT!!

Works Great
I purchased this iron two days ago. It works great; however, it is difficult to lock down the steam button. I usually have to push it down a couple of times to make it lock.
