I would like to use the tape on a cement wall and the paint over it. Would the paint seep thro the tape?

Can this be used on a fiberglass tub

This is used in conjunction with drywall joint compound to repair cracks in drywall or plaster. I can not think of any reason how it would be helpful when used on a fiberglass tub. If you are planning on using resin to fix a tub, you need to use fiberglass cloth or mat, not this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed. Product was exactly what I needed. I used it with Durock and Redgard in my shower installation. Applied the Redgard with a brush in all the corners and then placed the 6" mesh over it and applied another coat of Redgard then rolled the entire shower with several coats to the proper mil-thickness. Only negative comment is that since this product was not carried in the store I paid more for S&H than the product cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was exactly what I needed and worked almost exactly as expected. I had a wall in a travel trailer w/ many pieces of 2x2s used as furring. I wanted to fill the spaces w/ pink insulation and tightly-cut drywall. I inserted the drywall and stapled the edges to the furring. This 6" tape was perfect to cover the spans of drywall to pull the whole wall together so I could put new paneling on it. One very minor drawback was that it was not as self-sticking as I thought it would be. I just had to use mud quickly on the first part of a tape span. Another small drawback was that it is available online online only; however, ordering it to the store was easy and entailed no extra charges.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Useless for taping inside corners This series of pictures show what happens when you try to fold this tape for inside corners. The tape is simply too weak to withstand being folded back on itself. The strands snap. And this is without using a taping knife to get it into position and embedded. If you can't properly fold it for inside or outside corners or edges and expect the strands to hold, this tape's utility is severely compromised, especially when you use it on CBU and embed it in thinset mortar. Sure, beautiful product, beautiful idea on the surface...but it doesn't measure up to other alkaline resistant tapes. I bought two rolls. Both were compromised in this manner. So, these are the claims made: High strength - Shown to be a lie. Alkaline resistance - Perhaps. Strong adhesive with resin - True. Easy dissolution in styrene - Unknown. Ideal reinforcement material - Shown to be a lie High tensile - True. Perfect chemical stability - Unknown, but if the manufacturer claims I got a bad roll, well, no. Self-adhesive - True. Easy to apply - Shown to be a lie in the case of inside corners. Deformation resistance - Shown to be a lie. 75 ft. Roll - True, but the tape is actually 5.75 inches in width.

This fiberglass joint tape was perfect for the job . It was easy to use and it looked great after it was applied . I am very pleased with the fiberglass tape and would use it again .
