Q:WTX vs NGX what is the difference between the the two guilds? On the NGX 24" or 36" or 50" can they all add extra lengths to them?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello! The main difference between WTX track and NGX track is the NGX's ability to be clamped from one side, and the ability to work with our new saw plate and non-chip strip which can be used to make zero clearance cuts. For the NGX Clamp Edges, these part numbers will fit with the 544060 50" NGX Extension: 544024 (24"), 544036 (36"), 544050 (50"). For further inquiries, you can chat with us on our website (BoraTool.com) or text us at 248 588 0395. Thank you!

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello! The 100" NGX Clamp Edge is a set of 50" NGX Clamp Edge and 50" Extension so it can be used for both full 8ft sheet or a 4ft plywood. I hope this helps. The screw holes to attach the extension to the clamp edge did not align properly to allow for secure attachment. I had to tape the two pieces together with painter's tape and run my bare circular saw up against the edge to rip cut plywood since the clamp edge on its own is only long enough for crosscuts. Basically the whole set is useless because the clamp edge will not extend securely.

This Bora clamp deluxe just make my jobs so much easier I do carpentry, cabinets, and other wood work, now I can make my cuts much more straight, or in any angle, the with extension you can cut a plywood 8 feet long or you can take the extension off and do smaller cuts, the saw plate is included and so easy to attach a circular saw, you can move it to different measurements positions to make your cuts, definitely I will recommend this Bora clamp deluxe for smaller or big jobs

I found this guide to be very solid as I did not see any measurable deflection when using it and it worked great as a guide. However, not a great track saw substitute. Using either the Saw Plate or just the guide, I found the cuts to be true. I also found that it helped when using the Saw Plate to use a dry lubricant (I used PTFE) on the guide as this allows the saw move much easier on the guide. The guide itself is easy to set up and when locked down it doesn’t move. Using the Saw Plate ensures that your cuts will be true. (I have been known to drift away from a guide.) I think the clamps that allow the guide to be used at an angle across a piece of plywood were very clever and worked great. However, I found the lack of instructions for setting it us to use like a track saw to be lacking to say the least. The instructions were just pictures without any written explanations of any of the steps. Consequently, it took me quite a while to get the saw(s) set up to see how they worked. In addition, it requires a metric allen wrench to set up a saw on the Saw Plate and this wasn’t included so I had to file down another allen wrench to fit. I set put the ‘non chip strip’ on the guide and tried the saw with 24-tooth blade and had minimal tear-out. However, when I switch to the saw with the 60-tooth blade I did have tear-out. Not sure why. I joined the two sections of the guide together to see how that worked and found the joint was not exact, and I had to file the bottom of the lead edge of the Saw Plate so it would not hang up on the joint. I recommend this product an the basis that you will get straight true cuts using the guide particularly when using the Saw Plate. I would have rated it higher if it in fact eliminated tear-out and the instructions were easier to follow. I also found that the nuts that are held in position when tightening the guides on the Saw Plate can rotate as they are not a snug fit in the slots they sit in.

This clamp will work well for long cuts as it will reach across a 48 inch width and It comes with an extension for a full 8 foot use. The clamp easily slides in the track and you can adjust pressure by careful placement. The clamps are only 3/4 inch thick so it works well with most stock. It also comes with a sled to mount your circular saw on. It is designed to hold most by simple adjustments. All of this can be a challenge to figure as the instructions are broken to simple drawings and no written text. There are also some clamps included which are designed for making long angle cuts.

I got this to help me cut large pieces of plywood for some upcoming woodworking projects. I expect this to work perfectly in assisting me in handling full sheets of plywood, OSB, MDF, and anything else that comes in large sheets - can't wait to get started this weekend. The track and attachments are very well made and the instructions included will help greatly when setting this up and using it.

This tool is like having a portable track saw. I most recently used it for ripping and cross cutting sheets of plywood and 4’x8’ PVC trim sheets. And using it with the caddy/sled/sawplate/whatever-you-want-to-call-it, which attaches to the saw, sure beats my previous method. No more fighting an imperfect 2x4 to stay flush. The caddy fits on two of my 7 1/4” saws (one corded, one cordless), as well as my little 6 1/2” cordless. At first I struggled to attach the saws, but that was because I wasn’t lifting the blade. Once attached, you lower the saw blade to make sure there’s reasonable cutting depth (keep in mind the caddy's clamps should be placed as to not interfere with the saw's motor/housing etc... I made that mistake too). That brings me to the paper instructions…. Would have been nice if they were clearer. Bora’s website wasn’t any help either… I had to goto youtube to figure it out. There are a lot of fine adjustments required to get the saw perfectly straight in the caddy, so I’ve left my corded saw in it so it's ready to go for the next project. The guide comes in two pieces, which when combined provides 100”. Keep in mind when you only use the main piece you’ll get a little less than a 50” cut due to the clamps on each end. Would have been nice if this guide had quick change/setup capability to go from 55” to 100”. Assembly to 100" requires removing a few screws and then screwing the ends together. Of course, then you have to reverse the process to take it apart for storage. I greatly appreciate the hanging hooks on both guides since I can get them out of the way when not in use. The 50” and 100” non-chip adhesive tape strip, is a nice idea in theory. In practice, it’s useless in my opinion unless you (a) adhere it perfectly straight (although it will be kinda straight if not perfect after the first cut); and (b) make only straight cuts. If you do a beveled cut you’ll cut the tape unless you flip the whole sled contraption around to the other side of the track…. and doing so changes the blade’s position. I haven’t tried the two additional track clamps for angle cutting yet because I haven’t needed angular cuts. To attach the track clamps you have to remove the ends and slide them onto the track. Overall this seems well built and it’s a very helpful tool for the DIYer like me who wants the advantages of a track saw. I’m pleased with it.

Sometimes the cut you want to make is difficult if not impossible on a table saw, especially if you are working alone. With this I can rip a full sheet into workable sections safely and comfortably on sawhorses. Plus if you are like me and can't cut a straight line to save your life with a circular saw this will do that over and over with minimal effort. The quick clamp system is fast and easy to use on 90 degree cuts and you and attach the tracks with clamps at any angle if you need. Once you set the sled to know the offset of the blade the marks on the sled let you know if you are on your line and ready to cut. It breaks down into a small package and takes little room to store. I would say it is a good alternative to a table saw especially if storage space is at a premium.

BORA NGX 5-Piece Clamp Edge Deluxe Set – Almost everyone who has used a tracksaw appreciates its accuracy and clean cutting results, but their price tags are high and maybe prohibitive for the occasional user and Do-It-Yourself-er. This Bora set is a good option to avoid paying $500 and more for a good tracksaw. It does require a decent circular saw and a good blade that isn’t included, but most woodworkers already have one. Once the saw is mounted on the sled and the track clamped to the material it is easy to get straight clean cross-cuts and rips. I tested it by cross-cutting a piece of ½” plywood. The results were a smooth straight cut with almost no splintering. The track comes in two sections that can be combined to cut 8’ long boards and full-length plywood. I did wipe some silicone on the track to make the sled slide smoother but other than that it works great. The one issue I have is with the assembly instructions. They are all illustrations of steps to install and set up your saw and assemble the track etc. The problem is there isn’t any text to explain what you are doing or how to do it. Just pictures. Going through the process was some trial and error. For instance, it shows mounting the saw to the sled, but doesn’t tell you that the sled needs to be on the track for blade clearance. I included a photo that illustrates adjustments for the saw that I assume is for blade clearance. I found it hard to see why the two lines on the left are wrong and the lines on the right are correct.

I really could have used this when I was building 4 barn doors for my basement. But I have two more to go and this will make the job much easier. It's a pretty simple setup - the bars clamp easily to the work piece. And if it's just straight cuts you can get away without the sled, just keep your saw pressed up against the track. The sled is a little tricky to attach straight but that's more due to me being new to using a track saw. Couple of YouTube videos later and it was easy to figure out. And using the sled will ensure the saw doesn't stray. All parts are very sturdy, very little flex in the bars. And the additional track clamps are a great addition - you can use bar clamps or C clamps, but to have clamps purpose built for this is much better. All in all, this is hands down better than screwing in scrap pieces of wood to serve as my guide and then having to fill holes. My only complaint, like others, is the instructions. Definitely not the easiest to follow.

I love the clamp and rails. I was impressed with this edge clamp set. I have wanted one for a while now and was happy to get this one. The 50" rails (2) have a good weight to them and when connected to make a 100" single rail is very sturdy. I gave this set 4 stars because I didn't like the setup of the saw attachment. I watched a couple of You Tube videos about connecting the saw to the plate and then to the rails. The directions included with the set also were a little vague for the first time user. After watching the videos, I decided to just use the rails. I do plan on using the saw plate attachment in the future, but didn't want to take the time to figure out all the measurements. I will update my rating to 5 if I find the saw plate makes a great improvement. I did like the two extra clamps that are included in this set. I'm planning on building a shed in the near future and already see that some of the cuts will be improved with the versatility of these two clams to secure the rails. I am happy with this set and will be using it many times in my future. It's a great buy and I want to learn how to use the saw plate. I think it will be a welcome piece once I figure out how to use it.
