this product fits the bill in price and performance
Having no parts that may brake in the use of the composting saves breakage that other composters have. It is easy to use, clean lines, easy to install and costs less than other units that I researched. The customer service has been good and having free shipping to our door saved us more money. So far have had no problems with it.

I like this composting toilet but it's too expensive for what it is. Basically you're getting a plastic toilet-shaped bucket. Nothing else. You fill it then empty it. No composting done as such, no turning or work. It's great for my guests who are freaked out by the idea. For me, I'd used the humanure bucket system for years, same idea for much MUCH cheaper. Oh, customer service is terrible. I've emailed four times and heard nothing back.

    HOME DEPOT-Bad Robots!
I advocate for using composting toilets of good design. I really like DIY stores. We spend a LOT of time in HD stores! [and LOTS of money, because _lots_ of projects!] Home Depot appears to have posted videos irrelevant to help anyone learn about composting toilets. The Home Depot "helpful" videos posted on EVERY SINGLE composter they carry, is all about REGULAR toilets, not composting units. Also, they fail to show the insides of the composting toilets...anyone interested REALLY needs to go to the website for those models, to learn more about how they work. Some work better than others; some are not on all State's "approved" lists. Needs more actual details of the composting toilets, or at least a website link for interested shoppers. We've used composting toilets of several types/designs. It's tough to find small size units that work well; certain things make them work better, like: separate the urine out; good venting. Those kinds of features are important to show customers.

everyone should have one but has flaws
First off, this product saves water! However it does have one little flaw that can become a headache. The way the drain is set up it holds a small amount of urine. If your drain isn't perfect the urine will back up and flood the bottom of the toilet. I fixed that with some silicone to raise the drain well and build up the drain wall. Also recommend a screen over the top of the vent to keep flies out. Biolet costumer service is good. Much prefer purchasing mulch from home Depot.
