BUT, if you would like a simple, easy way to introduce your children/grandchildren to gardening, or you are looking for an appropriate gift for someone who doesn't have room for a traditional garden, this is an excellent choice. Garden in a Can Organic Mint is set up so you can pop the top and plant the organic seeds that are provided. Water and keep the can in a sunny spot; watch your mint grow. You can harvest leaves all season long and the scent is heavenly. The can is recyclable, the seeds are non-GMO organic, and the result is healthy and edible. Enjoy.

Seems pretty simple: dig up a little bit of the dirt, add the seeds, add water. It took over 3 weeks to begin to get even tiny little sprouts. In the meantime, mold has started to form on the top since there doesn't seem to be any drainage for all the water you're supposed to add every day. I have this sitting in the kitchen window that gets about half the day's sunlight and I was hoping after three weeks I would have more than a few sprouts to show to my kids. I'm giving this a few more weeks, but it might end up in the trash soon.

As we are still having freezing weather and snow here in north east Ohio in the middle of april, I had to start this inside, instead of outside. The product did germinate well, but I am still keeping a close eye on it for damping off which wouldn't be a worry if started outside. I like the fact that it is in it's own container as mint is know to be a rapid spreader and can take over a landscape or garden. When I do transfer it to outside I will put it in a larger container to avoid that problem

My son who is a bit of a green thumb was ecstatic when I gave it to him. It is very simple. You open the can. Put the seeds in the soil, put two tablespoons of water in each day, and place in a sunny window. We have not sprouted yet but I'm sure within the next week or two we will get some growth. This has been very cool for me and my son. Another bonus is that it is clean. He has the plant in his bedroom and there is no mess involved.

I started my planting about 10 days ago and have about three dozen sprouts coming up already. My wife says it's hard to start mint plants from seeds, but this "Garden in a Can" method seems to work great. You simply remove the lid, open the seed packet and sprikle the seeds into the top 1/4 inch of potting medium and add 1/2 cup of water. Place the can near a window where the plants can get light and add 2 tablespoons of water to the can each day. I put my can in my bathroom window where it gets diffused southern light and a little extra humidity when I get a shower. After they start sprouting you're supposed to eliminate all but three plants. I started removing the smaller sprouts today. There are about three that are quite a bit larger than the rest, so they will become my permanent plants. (I just hope they aren't weeds! ;-)

Just sprinkle the included seeds in the soil and water a little bit every day. After about a week I started noticing little sprouts. Nothing to harvest yet, but I'm guessing it won't take long. The little sprouts are growing quickly! I really like the garden-in-a-can concept. No mess! I will definitely be buying a few other herbs to add to my kitchen windowsill.

The directions for growing are easy to follow and the seeds are germinating. I have a nice sunny window in my kitchen and this is where I keep most of my indoor plants. I think the idea that the container is !00% recyclable is great, too. The grandkids and I are enjoying these all inclusive garden in a can and garden in a jar.

Spring planting for the school child, the older person with limited space, or anyone who wants to have a bit of mint on hand. This is a really neat little garden idea, add 1/2 cup of water scatter some seed and put in a sunny window. Self contained Easy to use A daily check of moisture, and because its mint you might expect a lot of result. I am totally pleased with this can.
