About This Product
Being such a versatile product, bamboo poles can be used for virtually any application in or outdoors. They can help support plants, used as curtain rods, pieces for tomato cages, building structures, or as a tropical decoration. Bamboo poles like its bamboo fencing counterparts are found high in the Anji Mountains. The way it grows, gives the poles a tapered look, making one end wider than the other. These bamboo poles are dried to give it's their tan color, containing nodes about 8-12 in. apart that can be removed to hollow the pole. To enhance durability and maintain a polished appearance, apply a premium water-based bamboo sealer with UV inhibitors prior to installation. This helps protect against weather exposure, fading, graying, and cracking while extending the life of your bamboo fencing.

are they hollow or dry enough to hollow out
Hello SMRF and thank you for your question. Our 1" x 72" bamboo poles are dried and fire straightened. They are not hollowed out. The poles themselves will vary in diameter and sidewall thickness. They can also have some natural curvature, making it challenging to use standard tools such as steel rods, rebar, etc to knock out the nodes. We hope this information is helpful. Can these be ripped down the middle with a table saw?

The bamboo does come in a tan-yellow, golden color. It is common for the bamboo to come with green hues and tints, due to it being a natural product. If I soak these in water, can the bamboo be bent into a curved shape and will it stay in that curved shape once thoroughly dried?
