Prestige's SmartKey Security is designed to protect against common types of break-ins to keep your family safe. SmartKey Security is kick-in resistant, bump proof, pick resistant, drill resistant, and saw resistant.
Re-Key as Easy as 1-2-3
Before you start re-keying, you must have your functioning key, your new key, and the SmartKey Learn tool.
Step 1
Insert the key that currently operates your lock, and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
Step 2
A) Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.
B) Remove the SmartKey tool and the current key.
Step 3
A) Fully insert your new key into the lock and rotate it 180 degrees.
B) Rotate the new key 90 degrees back to the starting position, and remove it. Your lock is now re-keyed to your new key, and your old key will no longer operate the lock.

Asked by Dan October 27, 2019Yes! The handles do not come attached so you can easily swap them for right-hand or left-hand swing. A hex screw simply secures the handles in place.

Asked by Dede January 9, 2017I have Baldwin locks throughout my house installed in 1992. The brass finish does not hold up either on the locks or other Baldwin products. In reviewing the lifetime warranty terms, it expressly excludes the finish.

If I accidentally locked the lever and closed the door behind me, am I locked out?

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we're more than happy to help you get the levers installed in the correct direction. To reverse the levers, while in the unlocked position, insert the 3/32 allen wrench in the hole on the side of the lever and loosen the set screw to remove levers.
