Room darkening blinds simple mean that less light shines through the blinds causing the room to be darker. The only time you will notice a big difference is at night . It’s suppose to help the room to be darker and cause less light to shine through.
Can't say for sure, but it may be the tariffs on Chinese products make it too costly for Home Deport to stock.

It used to has, but seems no more.
It's about 4 inches for the headrail plus slats. 3.75 inches may not enough for French window.
It's 1" x 1" bracket is correct. However, you have to use the bracket which came within the box. Different kind of bracket may not fit with this blind. Even it is 1" x 1".
Actually, Aluminum blind is room darking blind.
Since the corded blind will be faded out this year. I think it will be replaced by cordless blind. If it is out of stock, there will be no more available in the future.
