Post Seperation Four Step Rail **REVISED REVIEW
I purchased, installed, and left a glowing review when I completed this in June of 2020. It has been 8 months now and I just noticed that the bottom post has bulged and seperated in two places. It has not been hit, bumped or struck by anything to my knowledge. My wife and I are the only ones living in the home. I'm not sure of the cause but cold temperatures come to mind. We live in Massachusetts and although this winter hasn't been horribly cold, we have had some sub freezing temps. No matter, I can't give this 5 stars anymore, nor can I recommend it with a clear conscience. I have made many many purchases from Home Depot and overall have been very satisfied with the quality of their merchandise.

    Sturdy, well-constructed railing
I installed two of these on my (brick paver) back patio steps in just a couple of hours. I am pleased with the look and sturdiness of this product, which has a limited lifetime warranty against peeling, corrosion and rusting. I purchased an inexpensive hammer drill which made drilling holes for the screws that secure the posts to the pavers a breeze.

Purchased this for some exposed stairs on my back deck. The 4-step kit was a perfect fit for my 5 step deck stairs. All parts were accounted for, holes were properly aligned and the finish arrived undamaged. Installation was a breeze. I purchased some 3/8" hex bolts, nuts, and washers as the hardware is not included. The four bolts per post provided for a solid install, no wobble here. The architecture on this is rather elegant and the aluminum construction is good quality.

do not do single rod install method
These things are very lightweight. I am a handy 30 year old large guy and installing the 1/2 rod was almost not possible. The fabricated threads in the bottom of the post are too narrow for the recommended rods and therefore require a ton of force to screw in. I had to secure the post and use vice grips with all the elbow grease i could muster to get these freaking things in. After installing on the steps they wabble if used. I think if you did the four anchor method in each it would be more solid. Overall I am going to keep them but believe there must be something better out there.

Easy to assemble. An assistant is helpful. Biggest problem is the fact that the measurement between the uprights is never shown. For this product it is 52 inches center-center. So if you are doing the trigonometry, the hypotenuse is 52". This is described as a 5 stair railing. It is only 4 stairs in my use case, because I wanted the ends the extend over the porch which is better for covering the first step.

We decided to use the center rod method to anchor the railing into concrete. The problem we had was that the threaded rod would not easily thread into either post. We validated that we had bought the correct thread size and tried 2 different brand's rods. We ended up having to put two nuts on the end of the rod and then forced the rod to turn with our ratcheting gun. Once it got past a certain point, then the rest of the rod easily twisted in. Otherwise it was pretty easy to assemble. Because the railing is secured by just a single rod at both ends into the concrete, it does wiggle a little, but is pretty sturdy. I would suggest you use the 4 bolts system instead of the single rod.

Had to install a railing to satisfy lender requirements on a home purchase. Bought this and did it all by myself. Great product! Straight forward installation, and it looks and feels beautiful. Waiting for the closing and then I'm buying one for the other side.

A perfect fit for my backyard cabin ...sometimes she shed, most of the time my cave. Handrails covers 5 steps perfectly with this 4 step mounted apparatus. Wood steps mounting was a piece of cake... simple, sturdy designed handrails. Thank you.
