With protection from weather so the steel does not corrode, they can be kept indefinitely. Unlike gasoline or diesel, propane does not deteriorate in storage.
I used mine with a CUISINART CGG-608 Portable, Professional Gas Grill, and was able to cook (for one) about 6 or 7 meals (steaks, burgers, salmon and chicken...)
