Hello, and thank you for reaching out to us. The TS4000 and TS8000 offer the same flame profile; however, the TS8000 features an adjustable flame control knob for added versatility. If you have any additional questions, we encourage you to contact us at: Bernzomatic@wthg.com. Thank you.
Hi Thanks for checking in with us. Methylacetylene-propadiene propane (marketed under the tradename MAPP®) was discontinued around 2010 when the sole North American manufacturer of that specific gas stopped operations and discontinued production. Since then, we have supplied MAP-PRO® as an alternative, in the convenient hand-held cylinders, with a fuel with higher heat transfer than propane.
Weird I was looking at this model to replace mine as the knob quite adjusting but maybe I'll look into fixing mine...
I know! I just bought one too. And I don't remember them being that expensive before but maybe just forgot. And then I get home and there's no freaking flown knob!! It's just all or nothing? Boy I hope my skills are that as well...

a special tip tiny hole round cleaning file set, most any welding supply or other big chain stores that offer welding supplies will carry them.
Best to use a forge or buy/make a kiln. Plenty of youtube videos on how to make them, set up, and reviews. So best to Google a home silver casting or gold casting forge. Have fun!
Yeah, this will definitely melt silver and gold for casting. Very large quantities might need acetylene, but this will work
Hello, Thank you for your question. The Torck Kit does come with the torch head and full 14.1 oz tank of Bernzomatic Map-Pro fuel.
Hello, and thank you for your question. When the torch is not in use and you have confirmed the torch is not hot, we recommend disconnecting the fuel cylinder when not in use. The torch and cylinder should be stored in well ventilated areas where temperatures do not exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have further questions please reach out to us directly at Bernzomatic@WorthingtonIndustries.com.
Might be better off looking into a oxy propane kit or oxy acyt. Oxy pro is cheaper and you can actually get a mini kit from berzo that Is oxy map or oxy pro I don't remember but it's hotter due to the oxy
I know it'll melt the braising rod BUT from what I've been told by H-vac people they say you NEED oxy-acetylene sorry I would have answered sooner but just saw this now
Yes, with one caveat. These torches are a lot "hotter," so you may want to practice before you try it on something that you don't want to mess up. All that said. If you aren't experienced in braising and soldering, I'd recommend you use the traditional Propane torch. They are easier more forgiving than MAPP gas torches.
Yes ! I used braised for cooper size 3/8 it's good, but 3/4" and up is a bit difficult, I recommend Bernzomatic TS8000, it will also be better and faster.
