      A:  NO. after all the hassel of finding a weighting material, the birds completely left the vicinity until I removed the bird bath.

        Bought this for outside my work window where it could possibly "disapear" if someone takes a fancy to it. It looks good, but is very light plastic and needs to be anchored (stakes provided). For $20, free shipping, it was a steal.

        I bought this birdbath to replace an old, VERY heavy concrete one that was too difficult to move. The concrete one was also harder to clean and a bit too deep for smaller birds. This bath works wonderfully, all birds seem to like it, and it cleans very easily.
