Does what the box says it will, straight forward to set up and install, has met my expectations...

I had multiple cats using a flower bed as their litter box. This device has kept them out from day one. It doesn't bother the birds. It recharges in the sun. I haven't needed to turn it off. The sound it makes does not bother me but if I am going to be back and forth in that specific area I turn it so it's facing the fence, so it isn't repeatedly activated for nothing. I have had it for about a month. Love it...I was ready to savage some cats...this device has been a peaceful resolution. I will likely make a little roof of plexi-glass for the winter to protect it from water. Glass would be even cheaper as Home Depot sells small squares of glass for under $5. Great product IMO.

When I started feeding wild birds in my small backyard naturally I started having a problem with the neighborhood cats coming around to hunt. One house-cat in particular would show up several times a day and started killing birds. The plastic spike tracks I put along the wood fencing did nothing to deter it. I would spray near it with water from a spray bottle which would keep it away only for a short while before it would come back to sunbathe among my plants or sit on the fence to pounce on the unsuspecting birds/hummingbirds. I read several reviews on this product and products like it before I settled on this particular purchase, mainly because it is a great price and solar-powered so you don't have to plug it in or worry about cords. I pushed the spike stand in the ground which was a super easy set up but it is also wall-mountable. It hasn't rained since I put it out so I'm not sure how water-resistant it will be. Motion detection has good range. Once you put in the batteries (as back up), turn it on by setting the dials to the correct setting (based on the size of the animal you want to deter), it is ready to go. The blue light indicates it is on and working. A word of caution, make sure when you put in the batteries that the settings are at their lowest as there is no on/off button. The dials on mine had been set to high upon opening the box and it is definitely a high-pitched and off-putting sound at the highest setting. Probably best to turn it off when you are sitting in your backyard as I'm unsure about whether or not it may be damaging to our ears. At midrange setting, I don't hear anything but a clicking sound unless I'm a few steps from the product. The package states it is safe for household pets but because I haven't seen the neighborhood cats AT ALL after I installed the product, this product may not be suitable for you if you have cats or dogs of your own. The wild birds and hummingbirds I've been feeding are still coming to my yard so this turned out to be a great solution for me. I have had it for about a month now and it seems to be sturdy and working fine. I highly recommend it!

It's been three weeks and the Solar Yard Gard Ultrasonic Animal Repeller has not worked in my yard. My RING Doorbell captures three cats, an armadillo, and a raccoon that walk around my yard. I have video of the raccoon at 3:00, 4:00, 5:30 pm walking past the perimeter of the Yard Gard. The raccoon has stopped and stared directly at the light. It just walked past the Yard Gard and continued along the front side wall of my house. It came back from the opposite direction and ignored the device. This raccoon, the cats, and the armadillo are "not" affected by this thing! Also, the Yard Gard comes with rechargeable batteries and a USB cable; however, there is nothing included for charging the batteries in or outside of the device. If there is a battery charger, it wasn't inside the box. The company doesn't give a phone number for assistance. In conclusion, I'm afraid of the raccoon walking around my porch and house in the daylight hours. The Yard Gard (that I have) doesn't work and isn't a deterrent for keeping these animals away from driveway and alongside my house . Any suggestions?

I had read mixed reviews about this product so I wasn't sure if it would work. Because something (most likely a cat) had pooped on my lawn several times in the course of a week or so, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Two weeks later and I still have not found any new poop. My husband thinks it might just be a coincidence but I'm confident it was the product itself. It lets off a pulsating flash of light when it detects motion. The fact that it's solar powered is also another plus for me. ~Happy Customer in California

I've had excellent result with the solar yard guard. Deers were constantly in my yard at night. Since the yard guard it is keeping the deers at bay. Very happy with the product

Purchased five of these Bird-X for Animal Control... They absolutely do not work!!! Followed the directions and it seems as though I have more Raccoon's than ever before... Definitely would not recommend these to anyone!!!

I bought 3 Bird-X to deter rabbits from destroying my grass areas in my yard. The first night 5 rabbits showed up in my back yard as opposed to 2-3. Since then I’ve had usually between 2-5 rabbits nightly. I’m guessing it doesn’t work for rabbits. The sound and the motion sensor are on.

The unit worked, as in the light does go off and a sound is emitted, but it doesn't scare away stray cats. As near as I tell can, they just ignore it after a short spell.
